The Role:
Performs tasks in a wide range of environmental, health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with the organization's EH&S standards and with federal and state regulatory requirements. Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of programs, systems and procedures necessary to ensure the overall safety and health of employees and the community. Assists in monitoring and preventing chemical, physical and biological hazards and diseases that could be present in the work area. Works with others to investigate accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards or uncomfortable conditions in the work place. Participates in recommending improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment, to minimize the hazardous potential. Participates in employee training, emergency preparedness and quality assurance programs. Maintains a working knowledge of the technical aspects of various regulatory requirements and how they may impact the operating unit. Completes work with a limited degree of supervision. Identifies key issues and patterns from partial/conflicting data. Likely to act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience

Roles & Responsibilities
• Serve as the focal point for health and safety oversight of NSK contractors.
• Serve as the principal interface between Company and NSK contractor management on health and safety issues.
• Work with NSK contractor management, HSE staff, and workforce to implement health and safety goals and objectives.
• Ensure compliance with Company and Regulatory health and safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct periodic audits of Company and contractor health and safety policies and procedures to ensure strict compliance.
• Assist contractor management in the development of policies and procedures.
• Assist contractor in the development and implementation of HSE Management Systems.
• Coordinate contractor HSE Management Systems Audits
• Participate in contractor evaluation/bid process and the development of site/project plans (PSAP)
• Lead or assist in contractor incident investigations. Review and approve all contractor incident investigations
• Assist contractor management and HSE staff in their continued implementation of proactive/preventative programs. Recommend improvements where appropriate.
• Ensure consistent interpretation between Company and NSK contractors of HSE regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure consistency in contractor recordkeeping.
• Recommend additional training program development, where appropriate. Assist in training program development and implementation where necessary.
• Serve as the principal interface with HSE staff on all NSK contractor HSE activities.
• Mentor contractor safety staff.
• Develop/implement contractor supervisor training minimum requirements/program.
• Initiate and facilitate regular meetings of NSK contractor and HSE staff to share best practices.
• Develop/implement a contractor knowledge sharing network.
• Work with contractor management and HSE staff on effective safety meetings.
• Represent Company at NSK contractor safety-related meetings.
• Be visible in the field.
• Periodically report to NSK management on contractor safety performance.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• College degree
• minimum of ten years of safety or safety-related experience is required.
• Experience with successful HSE oversight of contractor activities is required.
• Knowledge of petroleum-related safety issues (confined space, energy isolation, lock-out/tag-out, fall protection, etc.) is required
• Experience with oil and gas operations preferred.
• CSP or comparable professional safety certification is strongly preferred.
• NSTC Card is required and a Valid Driver’s License
• Effective interpersonal, problem solving and conflict management skills are essential.
