Our client is a global, pioneering operator with continued growth in Australia developing large gas resources and maintaining a substantial exploration portfolio. Our client is also involved in ground-breaking projects the likes of which the world has never seen before thus confirming their reputation as an innovator in oil and gas technology.

The Role:
Our Client is looking for a HSSE Advisor to provide advice/support for the HSSE&SP aspects of the contracts and procurement activity through 2014 to facility start-up and beyond.

Your duties will include but not limited to:

• Assess HSSE competence and performance of potential suppliers (including the possibility of visits to their associated fabrication facilities) during the pre-award phase.

• Liaison with Contracts & Procurement division to understand their requirements, support their efforts, to risk rank individual contracts, prioritise accordingly and then provide the necessary support.

• HSSE&SP department representation at pre-award and post-award contractor engagement sessions. Will be required to articulate the HSSE&SP related contractual requirements to an audience of 3rd party suppliers

• Training of supporting personnel (HSSE&SP function) to assist in the review and selection process

• Development of and custodian for a tracking tool to monitor the activity and allow advance planning of impending support work.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Ability to demonstrate knowledge, capability and competence in the following commercial, technical and interpersonal aspects:

• 5- 8 years experience as HSSE professional
• Effective interpersonal, communications and presentational skills, being skilled to effectively lead and engage at 3rd party supplier meetings and with internal stakeholders.
• Formal qualifications in HSSE&SP (e.g. NEBOSH, Environmental Diploma, practitioners qualification)
• Experience in HSSE&SP auditing
• Experience of the Oil & Gas contracting industry and of liaison with those contractors.
• Ability to coach and influence
