The Company:
A major oil & gas operator

The Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced HSSE Advisor responsible for delivering HSSE Management Plans, Practices and Procedures that support standardisation across Project Delivery Teams and promote consistency in the application of HSSE requirements.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Provision of integration support to ensure HSSE standardisation across the Project Delivery Units
Assist in updating HSSE Management Plans, systems, strategies
Advising on the definition of specific HSSE goals and objectives and the setting of those for the project team
Participate in risk management including the identification and management of all threats and opportunities.
Assist in the setting of HSSE targets
Review project related documentation and provide advice as required
Update HSSE plans and other documentation as required
Implement practices
Advise & assist in developing HSSE contractual clauses
Participate in Fabrication and Engineering Contractor Tendering process
Review potential contractor HSSE related documentation
Review selected fabrication contractor documents and system prior to commencement of fabrication.
Communicate Client HSSE expectations to all levels of suppliers and contractors during contract award process and at contract commencement
Audit contractor organisations as required.
Represent Client at Facility management forums,
Participate in HAZOP, HAZID and ENVID process as required.
Manage & Advise in the development of project electronic document management system,
Participate in incident investigation as required.
Facilitate or Conduct meetings, risk review sessions, HSSE workshops as required.
Assist in the development of a competency and training matrix.
Participate in “Lessons Learned” Process
Provide HSSE input into the Define stage SDP and PEP
Participate in development contractual strategy for fabrication contractors.
Participate in HSSE compliance action tracking.
Provide HSSE Support to PSCM logistics, Inspection, and Suppliers teams including development of HSSE Management Plans, audits & HSE direction/guidance .

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred.
HSSE qualifications including CMIOSH
Experience in Crisis & Emergency Management.
Previous Health & Safety experience in the oil and gas industry – preferably construction.
Incident Investigation and Root cause Specialist
Auditing qualification and experienceA proven HSSE track record on other major projects with demonstrated performance bias in a challenging HSSE role
Strong HSSE skills in providing direction for delivery teams through the development of goals and development and implementation of HSSE strategies
A proven understanding of critical tasks for all Project phases and sound knowledge of Codes of Conduct, Major Projects Practice and risk management, etc. (or similar)
Sound HSSE knowledge and experience of execution and application of HSSE best practice and HSSE governance processes in such areas as contracting.
A strong business perspective, with an emphasis on the alignment of project goals with the E&P GPO HSSE st

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Self motivated, accustomed to being in positions of responsibility and accountability; able to work well under pressure
Ability to energise team members
Team player with good inter personal skills.
Ability to influence and manage change.
Computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power-point.
