The Role:
Reporting to the HSSE Team Lead with a dotted line to a Team Manager (Water Column, Drill Centres and Flowlines or Offshore Construction), HSSE Advisors will act as focal points for Health, Safety, Security and the Environment for the team they support. A key part of the role is to support the relevant Delivery Team in achieving consistently high HSSE standards in line with defined company and GPO standards.
The HSSE Advisors will be based at the Aberdeen office and will be required to travel to Project worksites, usually in Europe, and spend periods offshore supporting construction vessel activities when required.

•Provide competent HSSE advice and support as required to allocated Delivery Team.
•Support Line Management to ensure work-scopes are subjected to effective risk management processes that accurately identify hazards and the required measures to reduce risk to ALARP.
•Attend risk management activities whenever possible, promoting high standards and contributing effectively to assessments.
•Provide targeted intervention (on and offshore) to address HSSE performance issues.
•Develop effective relationships with Contractors’, Sub-contractors’ and Key Suppliers’ Management and HSE teams, and promote successful HSSE performance in line with company expectations.
•Participate in incident investigations when required. Monitor Contractor HSSE reporting and investigation outputs to ensure expectations are met and causes are accurately identified and addressed.
•Conduct or take part in HSSE audits as required.
•Support the effective running of the HSSE Risk Register for the team.
•Monitor HSSE training requirements for team. Advise on, provide or arrange training as required.
•Monitor team participation in Behavioural Safety Observation System (BOSS) and provide coaching/support as required.
•Demonstrate the highest standards of personal HSSE behavior.
•Provide support to, and work effectively with site safety coaches when required.
•Support HSSE Project reporting as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Practical HSE experience in high hazard industries
•Experience of working offshore on construction vessels
•NEBOSH General Certificate
•Highly motivated self-starter
•Team player with well-developed people skills and a proven ability to influence people at all levels

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Experience of working in an HSE Advisor role for a North Sea Operator
•Experience of vessel assurance activities
•Chartered Membership of IOSH
•Formal root cause investigation training qualification
