The Role:
The HSSE advisor will be based at the site offices on a rotational basis at the start of construction activities at site. Advises in construction HSSE matters and supports the implementation of the Project HSSE goals and objectives. Supports the implementation of the HSSE Plan, working with the HSSE advisors (field) to ensure that company requirements are implemented during construction.

• Implements the agreed inspection and audit programme
• Maintains the HSSE tracking register containing actions arising
• Attends and supports the Weekly Management HSSE Inspection(s)
• Attends tool box talks to ensure that contractor maintains adequate HSSE communications / briefings with the workforce
• Supports contractor supervision with by providing advice on assessing site-specific risks and implementation of Control of Work procedures.
• Supports the HSSE Manager with collecting and collating information for monthly reporting
• Monitors standards of food hygiene / catering in place.
• Monitors implementation of waste management practices.
• Ensures Contractor closes actions arising from near miss reports, audits, hazard reviews & incidents.
• Co-ordinates & actively participates in the screening & training of all personnel, including sub-contractors as needed.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications.
• Degree or Diploma in Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering or in an Engineering or Technological discipline or comparable/demonstrable experience.
• Corporate Membership of recognised professional body e.g. MIOSH, MIEMA etc
Experience.
• Work on brown field oil and gas construction projects, preferably in a North African/Middle eastern country.
• Minimum 10 years experience as a Construction HSE Supervisor within Oil and Gas sector.
• Previous overseas experience in remote desert location working with a multi national work force and culturally diverse environment is essential.
