The Company:
This is with a Major O&G Company

The Role:
Advising the Upstream on continuously improving HSE-related performance
Act as a focal point for OIM/OSM and Well Site Leader (WSL) on all wells HSE issues
Advise, support and help with verification to the OIM/OSM, WSL, and other site personnel in meeting HSE Policies, Standards, Practices and Guidelines and legal and regulatory requirements
Support compliance with the site Safety Management System and applicable legal and regulatory requirements for the site
Participate in all Wells JSA toolbox, task, and risk assessment to assure all HSE hazards are identified and adequately addressed
Coach wells leadership on elements of OMS

Conducting HSE-related self-verification and supporting self-verification plans
Conduct verification as to whether people are appropriately trained to conduct their work safely in accordance with approved HSE procedures, e.g., personnel involved in lifting
Assess and advise on the safe handling and storage of hazardous substances
Conduct verification as to whether an effective, efficient and trained platform emergency response organization is in place, co-ordinate Wells exercises and perform other assigned duties in accordance with the ERP
Monitor maintenance standards, integrity, and certification for fire fighting, life saving, and other safety equipment
Conduct self-verification of CoW procedures are followed (e.g., lifting operations, working at height, energy isolation, etc.)
Conduct verification of the quality of the site HSE induction
Provide daily verification that Audits and Inspections take place as per Site Audit Matrix (e.g., Lifting, Rigging Loft, ICC/PTW, etc

Issuing and maintaining HSE-related procedures and guidance
Support or participate in Incident Investigations to determine root causes and development of corrective actions
Facilitate and run the Wells team lessons learned process on the site
Coordinate the response to lessons learned identified from incident investigation reports with other personnel
Facilitate and lead Wells safety meetings, health, safety and environmental campaigns
Co-ordinate environmental monitoring and reporting to assure compliance with approved procedures

Conducting HSE-related activities in support of OMS conformance and HSE regulatory compliance
Act as Level 1 Gas Tester , Site Radiation Protection Supervisor, as a site COSHH (or local equivalent) coordinator as required
Act as an Emergency Response Team Leader/Forward Controller for the Wells team
Maintain and up-to-date knowledge of HSE procedures and ensuring that any changes are communicated as appropriate to site based personnel
Conduct verification activity with respect to Wells contractor SMS bridging requirements

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications - Degree in Engineering, Science, HSE related preferred, CSP preferred, OHST or ASP required, IOSH Graduate member required (Chartered member preferred),
Experience - Some industry experience preferred e.g. environmental consultancy, laboratory technician, med tech, operator experience.
Indicative years of relevant experience 3-5 years
