The Role:
Reporting to the HSSE manager the Project HSSE Assurance Lead will act as the project focal point for HSSE Assurance across Project.

The Role will act to ensure consistent standards are aligned, reached and maintained on all Project locations.

The Assurance Lead will also provide an overall coordination role for the HSSE teams input into key project deliverables such as; Statement of Requirements SOR, Basis of Design( BOD )Project Execution Plan(PEP), Decision Support Packages (DSP) and the Health Safety Security Environment Plan. (HSSE).

Main Duties:

• Provide Safety support and coordinate timely input of the HSSE team to Q204 Project documents including SOR / BOD / PEP/ DSP / HSSE Plan.

• Update and maintain the HSSE Management plan for the current and future Project stages.

• Ensure that the Project complies with the BP UKCS HSE Management System and identify the documents that the Project would be expected to comply with. Also identify applicable good practice that should be adopted by the Project “in principle”.

• Establish an HSSE audit plan for the project. Perform audits to the plan, including ad-hoc audits in areas such as permit to work and integrity management compliance.

• Ensure risk management processes are being implemented on the work site.

• Review the project compliance against Major Projects Common Process requirements for current design phase and identify relevant gaps. Develop an action plan to facilitate timely closure of gaps identified.

• Regular intervention (on and offshore) to address HSE performance issues, recognizing both safe and unsafe behavior and conditions.

• Monitor Contractor’s Management and BP HSE teams progress against Project HSE goals.

• Participate in Incident investigations. Monitor Contractor HSE reporting and investigation outputs to ensure expectations are met and causes are accurately identified and addressed.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
10 years + practical HSE experience in high hazard industries.
Experience of working at onshore Construction sites and offshore on construction vessels.
Able to work in isolation with minimal supervision.
Good communicator with the a proven ability to influence people.
Recognised training in auditing HSSE Management systems.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Passionate commitment to HSSE with the ability to influence leaders [Educated degree level in an engineering or related discipline. Other academic qualification may be considered].
Demonstrable knowledge of the risk assessment process.
Corporate Member of IOSH.
Formal root cause incident investigation training qualification.
