The Company:
A Major Oil & Gas Operator

The Role:
1. While in the field, HSSE Technicians will spend 80% of their time in the field putting HSSE policies and procedures into practice via observation, coaching and mentoring.
2. Attend daily toolbox meetings. Inform the crews where we stand on our proactive efforts goals. Provide input on HSSE issues brought forward from the Onsite Rep and contractors. Input to toolbox meetings includes local site trends which are observed, which can be discussed to commend or correct personnel behaviours.
3. Promote “Goalie of the Month” campaign during all meetings and while in the field. Promote the intervention programs of the companies that you are working with. GOTM shall address actual interventions (Stop the Jobs) and not be used as a way to identify unsafe conditions. To make a GOTM entries follow the guidelines that are in the appendix portion of this document.
4. During Toolbox or General Safety Meetings, review any Learning from Incidents (LFI) documents with all personnel and post on HSSE bulletin boards for public knowledge.
5. Participate in Toolbox / JSA meetings. Review the JSAs during the jobs to ensure accuracy.
6. Perform BBSM observations by observing jobs to promote a positive safety culture at your location.
7. Review the Permit to Work system on jobs being performed to ensure safety conformance.
8. Participate in the development / review of Safe Work Plans or Permits as needed.
9. HSSE Technicians must observe construction activities daily. Perform daily spot checks to ensure conformance in Contractor Standards, Shell Standards, and Regulatory requirements. The HSSE Field Technician will not provide specific procedures on how to do the job, only guidance as to HSSE compliance. The HSSE Field Technicians must manage their time between administrative duties and time spent in the field observing the daily tasks.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
HSSE Field Technicians must posses a working knowledge of the company Onshore Projects and Contractor HSSE Management Systems in order to effectively communicate and monitor Onshore Projects and specific work site policies and procedures in the field.
Minimum 8 years of experience working on an Onshore Project and within a major oil & gas operator
