The Role:
Provide onsite HSSE Support to Construction Line Management and workforce. Support HSE improvement needs for items such as safety training, intervention, Permit to Work processes, Job Safety Analysis and HSSE risk management processes, toolbox talks; incident reporting and investigation; onsite inspection; personnel positive engagement on safety matters.

The incumbent will functionally report to the Construction Safety Manager and will be part of the Construction Safety Support Team, daily report to the Site Construction/Project Lead and respective HSSE Advisor.
A key requirement is 80% of time allocated to engagement with the construction workers and supervision on site when assigned to a location.
The work scope will cover the execution of Health, Safety and Environmental support on site for the Project. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist on the HSE work plan implementation.
- Provide onsite safety training and coaching for items including but not limited to Site orientation, Energy Isolation, Lifting and Hoisting, Confined Space Entry, Hazard Communication, Environmental procedures and Spill Control, Hot Work Procedures, Working at Heights/ Scaffolding.
- Participate and provide guidance on the Permit to Work process and making sure requirements implemented on site.
- Get involved in the Job Safety Analysis approval process and strict implementation on site.
- Provide onsite coaching, consulting, inspection of the construction work.
- Assist the construction team with HSE incidents reporting and investigation.
- Participate in evaluation of HSE performance of subcontractors and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Attend and interact regularly at toolbox talks and task briefings (minimum 3 times a week).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Skills and Qualifications required
1. Good planner and organizer.
2. Effective oral and written communication skills at all levels in the organization. English language fluency is a minimum.
3. Independent, objective and decisive. Positive and supportive attitude.
4. Understands HSSE management systems and processes.
5. Discern the applicability of HS&E laws and regulations and client policies and standards to any activity or situation.
6. Able to identify HSSE Hazards, engage with the line management and set adequate controls.
7. Determine root cause(s) of problems.
8. Effectively participate in diverse teams.
9. Independent use personal computing applications, e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer.
10. HSSE Professional qualification, e.g. NEBOSH, is desired.
