The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply

The Role:
Reporting to the Project HSSE Lead, this role is responsible for ensuring the security, health and environmental standards expected of the project are maintained through providing advice and leadership in the field. The purpose of the HSSE Officer is to observe and support the execution of safety programs delivered to internal staff and external contractors on site.

Responsbilities include, but are not limited to:

- Monitoring HSSE performance
- Providing HSSE training to internal staff and external contractors, where required
- Participate in, and deliver operations integrity assessments
- Ensure Contractor's compliance with project safety systems
- Communicate and deliver HSE expectations and activities
- Work closely with Supervisors to ensure safety compliance
- Review Contractor HSE plans and procedures
- Organise and participate in incident investigations and develop remedial action

This position is a residential role for PNG Nationals, based in Port Moresby.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Technical Diploma
- Working knowledge and understanding of HSE practices
- Ability to work in a team environment
- History and ability to work in harsh project locations
- Comptetency in Microsoft Office suite
- Read, write and speak English

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Related HSE qualifications, or similar
- Oil and gas experience
