The Company:
A global Oil & Gas operator.

The Role:
Provide effective HSE management and support in planning, execution and delivery of HSSE aspects of Company Projects throughout their life cycle, including coordination of HSSE design deliverables during FEED and detailed design. Facilitate delivery of statutory requirements and guiding the HSSE advisors from Contractors. The scope includes close working with the EPCM contractor and the coordination of inputs from working environment specialists, technical safety, environmental and health specialist through design, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Drive delivery of HSSE requirements throughout Design, Construction and commissioning phases of the projects and provide HSSE leadership in the projects through continuous engagement, communication and motivation.
• Ensure compliance to external regulations, as well as delivering the companies global and local commitments for HSE
• Implement the project HSSE & SP strategies and develop/review project specific HSSE documentation
• Implement and manage project HSSE activity plans as per internal internal company standard.
• Support management of HSSE in key contracts.
• Monitor project HSSE performance and prepare presentation material for performance reviews
• Deploy appropriate specialist support from around the Group and drive and coordinate delivery of quality HSSE expert advice, support and services to the project teams
• Participate in risk reviews, identify and maintain an overview of HSE risks, mitigation measures and actions and seek to continuously improve risk identification, assessment and reduction in Project activities.
• Lead and participate in investigation of incidents and related follow-up activities
• Cascade Learning from Incidents, best practices, drive implementation of HSSE practices in projects
• Provide HSSE coaching to project team members, including Contractors
• Conduct HSSE inspections, audits and site visits, challenge and improve HSSE performance at site
• Develop and execute various initiatives to reduce HSSE risk and improve HSSE culture and performance at contractor sites

Key Challenges:
• Working with contractors to create a partnership with strong HSSE culture.
• The ability to communicate effectively across different national, company and discipline cultures
• Promoting and assuring consistent high quality in the application of HSSE philosophies and standards.
• Demonstrate a breadth of knowledge consistent with the scope of the project - upstream, offshore, subsea, etc and ability to use internal and external networks effectively

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering degree or equivalent (preferably M.Sc.)
• 5-10 years of experience in Upstream and, or Downstream, preferably with experience of HSE management in projects and HSE contractor management, also at the worksites
• Demonstrated ability to deal with multiple, often conflicting, goals and priorities. Provides clear and decisive leadership in an environment of competing priorities and diverse activities and issues.
• Self-starter, self-motivated, open minded, strongly team oriented with a passion to drive HSE improvement
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, specifically related to managing and motivating contractors
