The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
Supervises and supports all HSSE related Upstream Project – Pipeline (Field) activities associated with the construction of overland pipelines and facilities from pipe delivery through pipe lay, reinstatement to commissioning and all sub-activities in between. The incumbent will report directly to HSSE Manager, under the leadership of the General Manager, Pipelines. Their peers include Narrows Crossing HSSE Supervisors and Collection Header Supervisors. This role has no direct or indirect reports.

FIFO Rotation is 30days/12days ex Brisbane.

Support initiatives undertaken by the HSSE resources within the Upstream Projects – Pipeline (Field) Active involvement in the risks assessment process associated with the scope of work for each Contract
• Complete weekly reports of site and work stream activities and submit to HSSE Manager
• Co-ordinate and monitor the effectiveness of site HSSE consultation with Company and contractor groups. Conduct gap analysis studies of Contractor HSSE plans
• Present Company HSSE elements in Contract commencement meetings
• Support the HSSE Manager in developing systems to enhance HSE kick-off meetings prior to the start of contractual work execution
• Actively participate in Contractor kick-off meetings
• Liaise with Contractor HSSE peers to obtain best for business outcomes
• Participate in site tours, focused inspections and attendance at HSSE site meetings
• Conduct regular work place audits to identify hazards, unsafe workplace conditions and work practices
• Support the embedded resources within the Upstream Projects – Pipeline (Field)
• Ensure that the incident notification and investigation process is embedded and functioning in the prescribed manner
• Participate in incident investigations when required, as necessary to support the Upstream Project – Pipeline (Field)
• Ensure a robust reporting process is developed and managed within the functional reporting process
• Assist in the early assessment of installation and commissioning risks and agreement/implementation of effective control measures
• Co-coordinate planning of HSSE safety refocus sessions, safety initiatives and ensure BG Lifesavers are communicated across the project work streams
• Develop a culture that values good HSSE performance and recognises the link with good business performance
• Provide healthy, safe and secure work environments
• Provide assistance to workstreams in reducing HSSE risks to ALARP
• Support Zero Lost Time Injuries philosophy and assist the Upstream HSSE Manager in developing overarching incentive strategies to achieve this goal
• Provide a range of measures to raise HSSE awareness and empower workforce.
• Support the contractor pre selection process and ongoing management
• Aim for Best in class HSSE performance

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Extensive HSSE experience in a project environment, within the oil and gas industry
• Previous experience undertaking Field HSSE Risk assessments
• Direct involvement in Emergency Response
• Experience in HS&E auditing in particular HSSE Management Systrem Auditing
• Experience with Incident Investigation and root cause analysis
• Previously held a HSSEQ position in a similar role Team leadership and team building skills
• Experience in site HSSE management of EPC contractors
• HSSE experience with the construction of large diameter underground pipelines
• HSSE experience with HDD and horizontal boring techniques

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Educated to diploma or similar level, supplemented by on the job training/career development courses in HSSE
• Good working knowledge of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 Good working knowledge of relevant International (and preferably national and BG) codes and standards
• Thorough understanding of the following activities during Construction/Commissioning: including safe systems of work/permit to work, confined space entry, working at height, lifting operations, excavation & trenching, occupational health monitoring, security and waste mangement
• Good interpersonal skills with a flair for building internal relationships
• Target orientated and self motivated Ability to work under minimum supervision
• Ability to deliver presentations at a range of organisational levels
• Ability to lead and influence team members and develop a positive culture within that team
