The Role:
Job Title : HSSE Supervisor
Group : HSSE
Section : Zone – NSRP Project
Report to : Zone 1 HSSE Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Zone 1 HSSE Supervisor for JGCS, you will be given a number of tasks which must be carried out on a
daily basis. After you have understood your areas of responsibilities you will be task to execute those tasks
accordingly. You are responsible to supervise subcontractor safety. You are responsible to report directly to the
Zone 1 HSSE Manager.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct site Safety patrol in order to prevent incidents, giving full support, through all stages of the
project.
2. Ensures that all safety Rules, Standard and procedures for site construction are in compliance
with CONTRATOR’s Procedure and Local Regulations.
3. Ensure compliance to Safety responsibilities in working area.
4. Develop and maintain visibility and presence on site; gain the trust and confidence of the
worksite personnel and provide proactive coaching on all HSSE issues.
5. Contribute to building a culture of personal accountability where behaviours are re-enforced
and at risk behaviors are challenged.
6. Provide coaching and training to the site workforce and management team and ensure that
all project participants are provided with the tools and knowledge to allow them to work
within the safe operating envelope of legislation, procedures and competence.
7. Arrange, attend and participate in weekly site safety meetings, are required and respond to
any actions in a positive in a positive and timely manner.
8. Monitor construction operations and assist with risk assessments, lift plans and toolbox talks.
9. attends and participates as appropriate in safety meeting.
10. Reports near misses and incidents immediately and participate in incident reporting
investigation and follow up as required.
11. Stop work if unsafe to proceed and provide alternative safe methods of work.
12. Look for work related hazards and report them to the appropriate authorities.
13. Participates in organized safety walkabouts as appropriate.
14. Participates in risk assessment development and monitoring implementation.
15. Ensure appropriate work permits are in place.
16. Participate in Emergency team events and exercises.
17. Ensure that the projects fire safety requirements are complied with.
18. Check when required, construction plans and permits for all safety compliance before starting
any construction work and discuss work plan with relevant Managers.
19. Attends and participates in daily tool box meetings.
20. Participate , as required, in Sub-contractor meetings for all Safety aspects.
21. Assist as required, in Safety audits for sub-contractors to ensure that Safety programs are implemented.
22. Monitor risk assessments and work execution plan s for hazardous or harmful work.
23. Carry out daily Safety Inspections as frequently as possible to ensure that work practices and conditions
are in compliance with standards and requirements.
