The Company:
A major global oil and gas Operator.

The Role:
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Plans and conducts HSSE&SP training courses and contractor employees at all levels, including demonstration and practical training exercises.
2. Prepare the training materials and assists in developing and updating of HSSE&SP training programs.
3. Produce weekly, monthly and annually HSSE&SP performance statistics
4. Develop safety alerts based on the lessons learned from accidents.
5. Conduct audits on the training system and field inspections


ADDITIONAL COMMENTS/SPECIAL CHALLENGES:


6. Ability to work in a diverse environment in which cultural differences and conflicting objectives may compete for attention.
7. Be able to work with a local national work force and manage and coordinate training for the more senior persons in the organization in a constructive and productive manner.
8. Must be motivated and a self-starter with leadership abilities and a "can do" attitude.
9. Promote the adoption and adherence to international HSE standards, performance and attitudes, and achievement of Group HSE standards
10. Proven ability to work with contractors working in a weak HSE culture environment, (needs to work with and develop red-banded contractors – as per HSE capability assessment and improve their HSE systems and people to meet minimum critical company requirements)
11. Must be an individual with strong interpersonal skills and emotional stability
Interfacing with major contractors providing services to the project and with the operations organisations managing the assets.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1. Education Diploma or equivalent.
2. Degree in Engineering, Science is an added advantage.
3. Diploma in Safety Management, NEBOSH diploma or Certified Safety Professional.
4. Experience & Skills Over 10 years in the oil and Petrochemical Industry, inclusive 5 - 7 years in the special field of Safety training and 5-7 years as a Safety Manager/Coordinator /Officer.
5. Must have Train the Trainer Certificate
6. Capability to distinguish different training needed for each phase of the project.
7. Fluent in English language and Arabic
8. Able to work in a stressful conditions and multi-cultural environment
