The Role:
The purpose of this role is to support major project teams and others in complying with company requirements for application of Human Factors Engineering on capital projects in accordance with applicable technical standards and country-specific regulations.

Capable of filling the role of HFE Specialist on project teams
Facilitate HFE Screening and prepare project HFE Strategy
Lead, facilitate and report on HFE design analysis activities (including valve analysis, safety critical task analysis, control room design analysis, Human Machine Interface design analysis)
Represent HFE at project technical reviews, including model reviews and plant start-up reviews
Advise on compliance with HFE Technical Standards
Liaise with equipment and engineering contractors to ensure understanding and compliance with project HFE technical requirements.
Liaise and coordinate with related HEMP activities
Advise and develop HF content of ALARP demonstrations.
Deliver HFE awareness training to discipline engineers, contractors and others.
The role may also involve supporting projects and businesses in wider Human Factors studies in support of HEMP or other safety analyses.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Equivalent to Certified Ergonomics Associate (CEA) of the USA Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics and/or experience as HFE coordinator or leading HFE on projects including application of Shell or industry HFE Standards.

Oil & Gas experience required
