Our client, a diverse Canadian Energy Company, plans new developments estimated at $12+ Billion over the next 5 years.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. Residents of Newfoundland & Labrador will be given first consideration for this position.

The Role:
DIRECTION EXERCISED AND AUTHORITY:
Under the direction of Project Manager, HVdc Specialities and Switchyards and guidance of the Completions
Manager, the HVdc Specialities and Switchyards Completion Lead provides expertise and guidance to the HVdc
Specialities and Switchyards Delivery Team to ensure development, implementation and delivery of the LCP
Completions requirements of preservation, mechanical completion and commissioning.
DIRECTION RECEIVED AND REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Functionally reporting directly to the Project Manager, HVdc Specialities and Switchyards, and reporting in a matrix
organization to the Project Completions Manager. Incumbent is expected to demonstrate a high degree of
personal initiative and self-motivation in carrying out his/her duties and responsibilities.
PURPOSE AND SUMMARY OF SCOPE:
Working within the HVdc Specialities and Switchyards Delivery Team, the incumbent will provide leadership of
Completions deliverables throughout engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up of the
HVdc Specialities and Switchyards scope of delivery. In particular, the incumbent will be responsible to ensure the
Completions deliverables meet or exceed the company's expectations, and are aligned with industry recommended
practice and are aligned with those deliverables in other components of the LCP (Cl, C4 & S0131). The incumbent
will interface extensively with the various members of all the Project Delivery Teams and in particular, C3 Area
Managers, interface management and Ready for Operation (RFO). The initial focus will be assistance in the
preparation of the specification and implementation of requirements for award of HVdc Specialities and
Switchyards contracts, inclusive of supporting and expediting deliverables. This will be closely followed by review
&endorsement of Contractor's site preservation, mechanical completion and commissioning requirements and
scope. Will work closely with Area Managers to ensure program alignment amongst packages. Accountable for
achieving and maintaining project scheduled equipment Handover to the LCP RFO team. This will involve
working closely with C3 Planning to ensure items reflected in the schedule are met by the various EPC
contractors.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following is being executed as a contract scope of work.
The duties and job functions of the Completions Lead shall include, but are not limited to the following:
• Overall accountability for the Completions aspects of HVdc Specialities and Switchyards delivery scope.
• Implement the Project Completions strategy and develop Electrical /Instrument /Mechanical Systems
Completion plans, processes, forms and procedures that are aligned with the Project Completions
Philosophy, while taking into account the unique aspects of EPC supplied packages.
• Coordinate implementation and population of a project completions system within HVdc Specialities and
Switchyards scope and the interface to any contractor completions systems.
• Specify and implement deliverables within contracts for equipment preservation, mechanical completion and
commissioning.
• Review and accept contractor plans and procedures for fulfilling the system completion deliverable scope.
• Support the Delivery Team and contractors in fulfilling the system completion deliverable scope.
• Review and accept contractor system completion scope deliverables
• Participating in contractors' competency evaluations.
• Involvement and guidance in development, reviews and approval of the completions plans and schedules
prepared by contractors for System Completions activities of preservation, mechanical completion and
commissioning.
• Support Project Site Teams. Responsible for the execution of the site Completion scope and to participate at
site as determined by the project needs.
• Work with the Interface Coordinator to identify all relevant interfaces that must be considered as part of the
Completion activities.
• Participate with project controls group and Area Managers in preparation and planning required for the
logical sequence of commissioning activities and commencement of Completion work at the earliest possible
opportunity.
• Overall management and coordination and development of system completion related site procedures to
administer the works by the site contractors and Company site team.
• Coordinate the execution of Operations training with the EPC contractors.
• Participate with RFO in the development of integrated system commissioning and start up procedures and plans.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
• 10 to 15 years successful experience on delivery of major high voltage packages for large projects; preferably
Hydro/Electric; in technical as well as construction, commissioning and start-up roles.
• Previous experience of supporting multiple engineering, procurement and site teams on a m ulti—million
dollar project as an Electrical or multi-discipline commissioning specialist.
• Experience in developing and implementation of mechanical completion and commissioning manuals, plans,
procedures and tools on large-scale projects from engineering and procurement through to Start-up.
• Experience in electrical utility companies and HVdc converter systems an advantage.
• Possess an excellent and demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental.
