The Company:
With interests in over 20 UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) fields, my Client has one of the most significant exploration and production businesses in the offshore waters of the UK.

The Role:
Responsible for providing an end-to-end hydrocarbon accounting service including production reporting to third parties and statutory authorities for the company operated assets.

Responsible for monitoring the accuracy of the internal production data for one or more non-operated assets.

Provides weekend hydrocarbon accounting and reporting cover for at least one weekend in three.

Reports to the Team Leader Commercial Operations.

Peers are Hydrocarbon Accountants, Production Technologists, Process Engineers, Operations Engineers, Metering Engineers, Gas and oil traders and members of the Production Engineering Performance team.

No direct reports.

The Hydrocarbon Accountant's responsibilities have a significant influence over the revenue generated by the company operated fields.

Ensures that the metering in the allocation databases are accurate correcting for metering issues as necessary.

Ensures that sample data used by the allocation systems is collected in a timely manner and is of sufficient quality.

Assists offshore personnel with the management of gas available for sale notifications and gas nominations.

Monitors output from allocation systems so as to recognise issues with data.

Maintenance of allocation system configuration data.

Management of third party and statutory production reporting activities on behalf of the company.

Applies the results of mismeasurements to the allocation system.

Maintains all relevant sections of the UKU Hydrocarbon Accounting Manual.

Prepares and maintains the hydrocarbon accounting procedures to ensure that all team’s activities are performed on a consistent basis.

Ensures own safety and safety of others.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Educated to Degree Level in one of the following – Engineering, Business, Accountancy or Management or equivalent.

Familiar with UKU Hydrocarbon Accounting Manual and hydrocarbon accounting procedures.

Advanced computer skills (demonstrated proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and database systems) as well as the desire and capacity to learn and effectively used other technical software as required.

Knowledge of UK gas market and its operation.

Basic knowledge of metering systems so as to be able to recognise metering data issues.

In depth understanding of hydrocarbon accounting methods and techniques and the associated allocation systems.

Familiarity with the relevant gas lifting, and allocation agreements, processing and transportation agreements.

Self motivated and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Good team player with a pro-active and flexible attitude able to communicate at all levels.

Well organized with excellent analytical and communication
