The Company:
Our Client is looking for an experienced I&C Engineer who has previous experience offshore producing operations, facilities, and equipment.

The Role:
• Responsible for ensuring that facility process automation, control and safety system is designed , procured, constructed, tested, installed, and commissioned in accordance with the approved BOD document, technical requirements and specifications, UK regulatory requirements, codes, and standards, and in compliance with procedures and guidelines set forth by the Process Automation Group.

• Update Automation System design philosophy document and Design Basis. Prepare technical scope specifications, scopes of work, and bid packages for FEED and later for detailed engineering. Include UK regulatory requirements that may affect automation system design

• Assume lead role guiding engineering efforts to perform an API 14 C safety system analysis, HAZOP analysis, SIL analysis, Alarm management analysis, and development of the facility Cause and Effects diagrams.

Review and approve:
1) contractor drawings, calculations, specifications, bid packages, and purchase requisitions,
2) Specifications and standards. Develop new specifications required by project utilizing Process Automation Group assistance,
3) MAC produced drawings, calculations, specifications, purchase requisitions, and spare parts lists,
4) Area classification plans to ensure automation components are suited for area,
5) Instrument installation details,
6) Factory Acceptance Test requirements,
7) Pre-commissioning and commissioning plans, start up, and turnover plan,
8) Workstation graphics,
9) Design and drawings for the control room, equipment room, Training room(s), and console layouts

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

• 10+ years experience in design, specification, procurement, testing, commissioning, start-up, repair, replacement, and troubleshooting of upstream Automation and controls systems.
• Candidate should possess a strong knowledge of instrumentation and control applications in the oil and gas industry including field instrumentation, process control systems and safety instrumented systems.
• Candidate should have a working knowledge of upstream and offshore producing operations, facilities, and equipment.
• Experience with controls for large electric driven compressors and pumps
• Experience with controls for large turbine driven generators and compressors
• Experience with subsea equipment controls and instrumentation is considered a plus
• UK or North Sea experience and knowledge of applicable UK and European industry codes and standards is considered highly desirable.
