Our client are specialist within the Chemical and Petro-Chemical Industry

The Role:
We are currently looking to recruit a Instrumentation and Electrical Engineer with experience of leading the I&E engineering function on a high hazard petrochemical site. Work carried out by our Engineers in support of operations is diverse and challenging including:-
• Equipment integrity and reliability management
• Instrumentation, Control and Electrical systems technical support and codal compliance management
• Capital project design, installation and commissioning
• Major overhauls support

Primary Job Responsibilities

To act as the Responsible I&E Engineer in respect of electrical, control and instrumentation systems maintenance.
To define maintenance routines for all electrical, control and instrumentation equipment within the production area taking into account plant integrity and reliability requirements.
To provide guidance on technical issues to SRM/CAPEX project teams and to act as Design Authority for these projects.
To create work lists and associated technical specifications in support of area overhauls.
To manage the upkeep of the functional technical data within the technical registry.
To manage the upkeep of the functional leadership to all related engineering and maintenance staff within the production area
To maintain an asset life plan for the electrical, control and instrumentation assets within the production area that identifies when equipment requires significant repair or replacement.
To optimise the plant spares holding taking due regard of the required plant reliability levels and the costs of the spares holding.
To define and then implement an electrical, control and instrumentation engineering improvement plan that ensures that the plant is maintained to an appropriate level through the deployment of industry best practise.
To manage the functional elements of the total engineering and maintenance budget within agreed budget levels.
To act as Radiation Protection Supervisor and Area Classification Leader.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree qualification at 2:1 or above, in Instrumentation and Control or a related discipline. Consideration given to Electrical qualification with post graduation training and experience in Instrumentation and Control. Degree to be accredited by the I.E.T. or InstMC as meeting the educational requirements for chartered (C.Eng) professional engineer registration.
