The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, seeks expertise for offshore mega-projects in Canada.This opportunity is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. First consideration will be given to residents of Newfoundland & Labrador.

The Role:
The Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Lead Engineer stewards all instrumentation and control systems engineering activities at the Bull Arm Site (Site).

Responsibilities and duties:

• Provide overall I&C engineering technical leadership and expertise including:
Overseeing Company and EPC team members work at the Bull Arm Site
Being the technical authority for I&C at the Bull Arm Site to make recommendations on technical deviations and site queries to the Site Engineering Lead

• Steward the MICC and EPC contractor's activities with respect to I&C including:
Detail instrumentation & control system engineering using appropriate Management of Change processes
Development and modifications of control system logic
Management of the schedule,and labor hour estimate for MICC scope at Site including management of engineering change within the ICSS
Measurement and reporting of physical progress
Selection, specification, and inspection of instrumentation, wiring, and control system components
Technical management of discipline issues on packaged equipment
I&C estimates for weight control report

• Review, evaluate, and advise:
Instrumentation specifications and purchase requisitions
Control system specifications and logic
Compliance with design methods and safety factors to be used in design of project. Reviews completed design for correctness, compliance, and operability
Operability of the unit or plant for start-up, normal, turndown, and shutdown modes. Reviews or sets design basis for abnormal operating conditions

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Prior experience with Telecommunications Engineering at fabrication sites
• Demonstrated experience as a discipline leader during commissioning & startup phases of the project lifecycle Thorough knowledge of ABB 800xA control and safety systems
