The Role:
Educational Background / Qualifications:

Higher level education from a University or Technical institute is highly desired in civil engineering or construction.

Basic computer skills Microsoft Excel, Word, E-Mail.

High regard to SAFETY is a requirement. Willing to participate and promote SAFE OPERATIONS at all times. May be asked to Mentor/Advise peers on technical issues. Ability to work on several projects at once and interface with other disciplines.


Experience:

Must have a minimum of 3-5 years work experience in construction. Experience may be in construction, construction management.

Working knowledge of industry codes governing work in assigned discipline. Familiar with industry codes governing work in other disciplines.

Supervising numerous small to medium sized projects is typical. Because of the technical make-up of the Tengiz facilities, a background of both upstream and downstream experience is desirable, but not a must, or experience with sour gas oilfields or processing facilities.

Must have an understanding of project scheduling, cost tracking and contractor evaluations.

Position Description:

This position provides site supervision for small to medium scale construction projects specific to a particular discipline.
Projects range from simple to complex, multi-faceted and can range from several thousands of dollars to millions.
Supervision responsibilities include, onsite SAFETY audits, participation in NEAR MISS, SAFETY OBSERVATION programs. Assurance that all TCO, local governmental policies are enforced and adhered to.

Essential Position Functions:

• Participate in NEAR MISS and OBSERVATION programs.
• Reviews job packs to ensure constructability of the work;
• Reviews material takeoffs to ensure all materials required for the job are available prior to start of the work;
• Monitors Contractors’ personnel to ensure adherence to safe work practices;
• Develops good working knowledge of contract terms and ensures Contractor compliance with contract terms & conditions;
• Capable of reading and understanding engineering drawings (PFD, P & I D) for assigned discipline;
• Controls quantity of Contractor equipment and personnel assigned to reimbursable jobs to maximize work execution efficiency and minimize overall cost;
• Monitors quality of construction work performed by Contractor and ensures adherence to project specifications, codes, and AFC drawings.
• Reviews Contractors’ time tickets and invoices for accuracy;
• Reviews accuracy of As-Built information supplied by the Contractor;
• Interfaces with the appropriate departments within TCO to obtain work permits;
• Interfaces with appropriate Project Engineer(s) on technical issues to ensure project objectives are met;
• Participates in final job reviews with Operations;
• Compiles necessary project closeout information.
• Driving licence

Special Skills / Requirements:

Ability to work rotationally. Ability to learn or speak English is an asset, but not a requirement.
