The Company:
Our Oil & Gas Client is in need of an I&E Technician in Fort Collins, Colorado.

The Role:
The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate and perform maintenance of automation systems connected to Client’s asset specific operations as well as periodic calibration of v-cone style measurement devices. The automation systems include well site flow computers and related communications systems. Safe, efficient and reliable operation of the automation systems is a critical success factor for production operations. The position will provide oversight and guidance to the field company and contract electricians, interact with field operators, electricians, I&E technicians, HES technicians, supervisors, the superintendent, contractors and more. This position requires excellent teamwork, organizational, and communication skills


• Responsible for creating proper relationships for automation end devices.
• Responsible for the safe, effective function testing of all field automation for bringing new wells to first sales.
• Familiar with operation and installation of various end devices, both electronic and pneumatic (pressure switches, pressure and flow transducers, valves, actuators, gas monitors, flow meters, radar level transmitters, etc.). Can inspect, calibrate and do basic repairs on most or all of the above and track planned and unplanned maintenance.
• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of field power systems (thermoelectric generators, solar, wind).
• Stays abreast of new equipment and technical trends in electronic, communication and automation systems and equipment.
• Understands SCADA systems including host computers, client computers, interfaces with various databases, alarming software, etc. Capable of troubleshooting and repairing minor problems with the above.
• Working knowledge of production and process operations.
• Communicate electrical issues effectively with the field superintendent, including project management, cost tracking, manpower, equipment requirements and safety concerns.
• Familiar with Flow Computers, PLC’s and other control devices. Understands, performs and troubleshoots basic ladder logic programming. Capable of learning and performing other control device logic, programming software and programming.
• Installs and maintains company owned telemetry (SCADA) radios.
• Understands basic networking equipment such as routers, hubs, leased line interfaces, etc. Capable of installation, basic troubleshooting and minor repairs.
• Positively interact with office and field personnel in a manner that creates an atmosphere of creativity, cooperation and attention to the safety of all personnel, the environment and Company assets.
• Actively foster and encourage cooperation and cross-training of electricians working in the production fields.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
EDUCATION High School diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE Oil and Gas field operations experience preferred; hands on experience with automation devices preferred
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE Must be able to use logical reasoning to identify problems, generate novel ideas, and implement solutions to new and existing problems
COMMUNICATION Excellent oral and written communication, teamwork, and planning & organization skills
CERTIFICATIONS Electrical license is preferred
OTHER Must be able to perform the heavy physical activity associated with regular job responsibilities, standing for long periods, climbing to heights greater than 50ft; Must be able to work in extreme heat, cold, wind, and other weather conditions for extended periods of time; Must have the ability to recognize environmental and safety hazards in the field and communicate these to the proper personnel
