The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their LNG mega-project in Western Canada.This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

We are looking for a I&E Technician to work in Fox Creek, AB.

The Role:
As an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician your main responsibilities will be:

• First line of support for operations for troubleshooting Instrumentation, Control systems, and Electrical (I,C,&E) issues
• Field manage I,C & E contractors for projects and support to include scoping, Factory acceptance testing, Site acceptance testing, Commissioning, Standardization
• Responsible for maintaining/creating back up applications and documentation for all CBU control systems
• Responsible for programmable logic control (PLC) (Projects and systems) and management of change (MOC)
• Responsible for monitoring facility alarm systems performance
• Champion the electrical management plan and electrical safe work standard at a field level

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Must be a licensed journeyman instrument technician
• Familiar with AB Control Logix, CompactLogix, Schneider Electric SCADAPacks, ProFace and PanelView HMI’s. Familiar with Wonderware Intouch HMI
• Good computer literacy (excel, pivot table, other Office application) is a must
• Familiar with typical well instrumentation - pressure, level, temperature transmitters
• Familiar with electrical equipment such as AC motors, variable frequency drives, emergency shut downs, transformers, motor control centers, UPS and battery charger systems, generators, and grounding systems
• Understands hazardous area classification, single line diagrams, and control schematic drawings

Preferred skills and qualifications:

• Broad knowledge in I,C & E and capable of supporting engineers with scoping/framing of projects
• Developing work permits, Job safety analysis, pre-job start ups, etc.
• Capable of providing operational and maintenance input into P&ID reviews, risk assessments, HAZOPs, and other engineering and design reviews as required
