The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experienced engineering professionals.

The Role:
To manage the inbound supply chain on behalf of Aston Martin to ensure that parts do not miss point of fit on the production line. This includes all material ordering, expediting and logistics activities involved in securing parts availability for production.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks
•Accountable for managing the 3rd party logistics provider to ensure they meet their service commitments and budget targets.
•Accountable for managing the development of the logistics solution for new models and continuous improvement opportunities along with their implementation.
•Accountable for the packaging team that ensure the product is presented to the production team in the appropriate format and is protected from potential damage.
•Accountable for the team managing the call off of parts into stock, or direct to production lineside for JIT components, as well as resolving any parts shortages (material management processes).
•Accountable for budget setting and delivery, along with working towards gainshare or continuous improvement cost out targets.
•Accountable for managing a team of 3 direct reports and 14 indirect reports.
•Accountable for working with the Material, Planning and Logistics Management Team in setting scorecard and KPI targets as well as delivering these.
•Delivery of the health, safety and environmental agenda for the 3rd Party Logistics Provider.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Experience in 3rd party logistics contract management in the automotive production industry is essential – in particular kitting and sequencing.
•Experience of working within material management, logistics engineering and packaging activities in the automotive industry is highly desirable.
•Experience of man management and coaching is essential.
•An awareness of Aston Martin Production System / Lean Manufacturing would be an advantage.
•Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy, together with the ability to work accurately and efficiently, taking resourceful action during periods of considerable pressure.
•Must be comfortable engaging at all levels of the organisation.
•Computer Literate essential.
•Degree or Higher diploma qualified or equivalent preferable.
