The Company:
Our Client is a major Oil and Gas operator and has assets through out the world. They are looking for a Lead Investigator to play a key part in learning from incidents, reducing all operational and safety risks.

The Role:
The Lead Investigator will play a significant role in investigations, such as Major Incident Announcements or Hi Potential incidents, providing subject matter expertise related to incident investigation practice and supporting the development of investigation capability.


As a High Hazard Incident Investigation Lead your main duties will involve:

• Lead investigations into actual or potential serious incidents.
• Delivery of expert incident investigation reports that contain relevant and achievable recommendations for corrective action.
• Providing oversight of process and guidance to leaders who are accountable for incident investigation.
• Provide coaching and training in incident investigation to deployed investigation leaders.
• Work with statutory or industry bodies associated with the investigation of incidents.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in an engineering or relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience spent working in HSE or Operational roles within the oil & gas or other ‘high hazard’ industry.
• Strong incident investigation experience, within a lead investigator role.
• Knowledge of human factor analysis
• Knowledge of the principles of Operating Management Systems.
• The ability to communicate and interact effectively and credibly at all levels, from front line workforce to management, and with technical professionals.
• Analytical mind with an ability to consider all possibilities when problem solving.
