The Role:
-The purpose of this position is to support Maritime HSSE and Risk management activities and provide HSSE expertise and guidance in the improvement and delivery of the Global Shipping Business (GSB) Incident Management Plan and associated processes, training and facilities.
The Incident Management Coordinator reports to the VP Maritime HSSE.
Peers of the jobholder will be support members in the Global Shipping Business Operations, Assurance, HSSE and Ship Design and Construction departments.

The Incident Management Coordinator's primary responsibilities and accountabilities are to:
• Provide expert advice and consultancy in the complex HSSE work stream relating to Shipping and Marine Emergency & Incident Management Response.
• Fine tuning GSB's Incident Management response systems to meet industry best practices.
• Provide expert HSSE advice and consultancy for Shipping Incident Management and Oil spill and environmental management response.
• Further develop, implement and maintain an effective Incident Management (IM) Plan to manage GSB’s risks
• Ensure the GSB IM system is completely integrated with other Operator’s Assets having Maritime risks & activities.
• Engage with GSB key contractors (Fleet Managers) to fully understand and assess their Incident Management capabilities and processes. Ensure that GSB Incident Management Plan is aligned with those of fleet managers through development and upkeep of suitable bridging documents.
• Develop and implement an in-house training program to support the effective implementation of company's Incident Management System.
• Accountable for GSB's readiness for execution of Incident Management Plan on a 24x7 basis.
• Responsible for the development & implementation of a robust plan of drills and exercises with GSB strategic partners and other Operator’s assets.
• Responsible for recording all lessons learned from various drills and exercises and ensuring that all actions are closed out to ensure continual improvement.
• Responsible for the upkeep of key stakeholders contact details relating to company's incident management plan.
• Support the HSSE team to ensure all accidents and environmental incidents are reported, recorded and investigated with appropriate corrective actions and follow-up to prevent re-occurrence.
• Interpret Corporate HSSE goals within the asset context.
• Support implementation of integrated HSSE Management Systems (MS) and tools.
• Provide support for Contractor Safety Management to ensure contractual elements mandate effective safe work practices to prevent injury, damage to property, and environmental harm in-line with established company goals and objectives.
• Support the maintenance and upkeep of GSB HSSE, Operational and Business risk registers as per the Operator’s Group’s risk management process and Standards and help conduct quarterly reviews as needed. Use appropriate cross-function inputs as required.
• Facilitate & conduct risk assessments in support of various GSB departments as assigned.
• Provide support and input to the various Maritime HSSE team responsibilities and accountabilities as assigned by the VP, Maritime HSSE.
• The GSB fleet operates globally and incidents on board can impact the efficiencies of supply and optimization of the GEMS team and the overall reputation of Operator Group. To mitigate these risks GSB maintains a robust Incident Management capability. Employee participation in and support of the GSB Incident Management Team, is mandatory.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- • The jobholder should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Transportation and/or Deck / Engine officer unlimited license and related experience in marine vessel operations.
• Knowledge & experience of marine vessel operations, emergency response and incident management. Knowledge in marine industry best practices for safety management systems related to vessel management
• Broad knowledge of maritime operations and associated risks.
• Understanding of key stakeholders involved in marine incident response.
• Good understanding of the marine risks specially those relating to transportation of hydrocarbons.
• Familiarity with the Operator’s HSSE standards, Management System Framework, HSSE management process and experience developing, implementing, or using quality or safety management systems consistent with ISO 9001, 14001, and/or 18001 international standards, the International Maritime Organization codes and maritime regulatory environment is essential.
