The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
The infotainment team are responsible for all entertainment and communications equipment in the car, this includes include navigation, audio, video, radio, TV, and telephony as well as some related further features such as reversing camera etc.

Delivery of given infotainment features for given projects, to quality, cost and time targets. The successful candidate will be allocated one, or part of one, of these features and be fully responsible for the technical delivery of associated parts to the projects.

The delivery role should encompass 3 main elements, which will have different emphasis at different stages of projects …
• Specification of a feature – including full understanding of customer needs, environmental and legal requirements, technical realisation by a supplier and failure mode behaviour.
• Integration into the vehicle – including all styling, mechanical, electrical, electronic and software interfaces and diagnostics functions.
• Validation to ensure customer complete satisfaction – including analysis and test, for components and subsystem and systems, on the bench, rig and in the vehicle.
• In addition to feature delivery each engineer may be allocated some “special responsibilities”, such as a process, or IT system in which they are required to act as on behalf the whole team, and/or a pre-development topic to investigate (typically with Group).
• Responsible for all external supplier and internal interfaces to achieve the delivery objective within budget.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A degree or equivalent qualification in an Electronic Engineering related discipline.
• Direct experience is expected before an engineer is “fully fledged”. However it is acceptable for individuals who do not meet this criterion to be considered “in development” whilst learning on-the-job with support from the FM, SE and other team members.
• Good communication skills at all levels.
• Proven self starter and able to work independently.
• Good time management and able to work under pressure.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience of OEM / Tier 1 Infotainment Engineering.
• Experience of navigation, audio, video, radio, TV, telephony & reversing cameras.
