The Role:
Functional Responsibility

Under the general direction of the Resident Engineer, supervise the inspection and survey staff during the construction of the Project.

Principal Duties

-Supervise the inspection and survey staff for the earthworks, roads, bridge, building & foundations, water & sewer systemsand other Civil Infrastructure.
-Provide support and work collaboratively with other company's site staff in all matters relating to administration of construction, service and supply contracts.
-Administer construction and supply contracts including the handling of any contract, claims, changes, or studies.
-Supervise the inspection/survey staff ensuring, monitoring, and control of contracts is completed to the required standards.
-Provide input and supervise preparation of inspection/survey reports.
-Manage field inspections/survey staff to ensure proper coverage of all contractor field operations.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
-Graduate in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a University of recognized standing plus six years related;
- Experience, including at least two years in supervisory capacity.
-Membership in Professional Engineering Association.
-Good fundamental knowledge of all engineering disciplines.
-Ability to effectively plan, organize, and control the activities of the work unit.
-Capable of working cooperatively with site staff and contractors' personnel.
-Familiar with and adhere to Safety manual and other approved practices and procedures.
-Physically capable of performing the duties of the position.
-Previous experience on site hydro construction team an asset.
-Proven organizational and leadership abilities.
-Thorough knowledge of corporate procedures, policies and regulations, including the Corporate Safety policies, and knowledge of the Workplace Health and Safety Act requirements.
-Possess the ability to deal with personnel of various levels internally
