The Company:
Large oil & gas company (our client) is urgently looking for Inspection Advisor

Assignment Type: Onshore Rotations, 6x3

The Role:
• Promote safety within area of specialty
• Coordinate and oversee activities of 3rd party and/or Contractor source inspectors
• Perform surveillance activities, quality inspection activities in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
• Oversight for the development and implemented of Contractor’s Preservation Program
• Keep a scheduled of required vendor maintenance for each piece of equipment, schedule vendor maintenance as appropriate and ensure that records of vendor maintenance are recorded and documented
• Maintain a listing of specially tools that are needed to maintain and service the equipment; insure that these tools are on site or inform management what tools need to be purchased to maintain the equipment
• Witness acceptance tests and perform final quality check prior to acceptance of equipment and materials, as appropriate
• Understand and enforce the Preservation Specification
• Manage interfaces and coordination between Suppliers, Contractors, Quality Supervision and other Project Team disciplines (e.g. Engineering, Construction)
• Lead development and execution of detailed oversight program for high criticality activities or critical equipment inspections.
• Keep Quality supervision updated with status of quality issues

• Provide leadership / expertise in quality inspection activities, make judgments and decisions the technical and physical adequacy of associated equipment and systems
• Provides input to and validate Contractor’s / Supplier procedures for inspection and for testing / examining components
• Review the site infrastructure and communicate needed improvements to ensure equipment on site can be preserved
• Review project documentation requirements and ensure that maintenance and preservation records are maintained
• Ensure that maintenance is being performed according to equipment vendor recommendations
• Perform periodic inspection of preserved materials and equipment to verify that preservation is performing as expected and take measured action when preservation measures are failing.
• Review lessons learned from previous projects in the area to better understand preservation and logistics requirements
• Interface with Regulatory personnel regarding preservation records and maintenance requirements
• Participate in turnover from Mechanical Completions to Systems Completion
• Generate, review and revise operational procedures for inspection and test equipment
• Interface with Quality and Engineering disciplines to provide inspection and testing expertise in the development and review of drawings, procedures and Project plans
• Support project with the development of method statements and/or examination technique recommendations for equipment inspections; travel to construction and/or fabrication site when requested to review and make technical advice for compliance with specified requirements
• Coordinate activities of 3rd party and Contractor’s inspectors within discipline, in conjunction with Supplier’s QA/QC team
• Utilize Quality Management expertise to perform audits and/or assessments of Contractors / Supplier implementation of inspection activities and document deficiencies
• Perform supplementary inspections and verifications in accordance with requirements of the ITP and the Project Surveillance Plan(s)
• Provide early warning of potential quality problems and the expertise to avoid / resolve them

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor or Associates degree in Engineering or Science preferred or 15+ years experience in the Oil & Gas industry in a project Quality Management supervisory role
• 15 years minimum manufacturing, fabrication or construction experience related to project scope
• 10 years minimum recent experience in selected inspection discipline
• Demonstrate a high level of expertise in selected discipline(s)
• Technical qualification or certification in discipline as specified at time of staffing request
• Must be proficient in common PC software (MS Word, MS Excel, etc)
• Read, write and speak fluent English with strong management, leadership and communication skills
