The Company:

The Role:
• To manage inspection work scopes on pressure systems and equipment with particular responsibility for pressure vessel, heat exchanger, tank and pipework examination and relief valve recertification.
• To provide an inspection service for structural and pipeline examinations and monitoring of welding and NDT activities.
• To ensure inspection activities are carried out in accordance with the UIO Inspection Quality System (IQS).
• To manage the Risk Based Inspection (RBI) and Non Intrusive Inspection (NII) processes.
• To supervise the assigned inspection team, ensuring sufficient resource is available for the required work.
• Supervise the production of long and short term inspection plans and scopes of work and approve inspection plans.
• Ensure requirements of IQS are met by team, monitor compliance and report deviations to Head of Inspection.
• Maintain auditable competence register of inspection personnel.
• Participate in management and technical meetings of the Inspection discipline, leading where required.
• Ensure Inspection databases including SAP are maintained.
• Coach, supervise and monitor the performance of inspection personnel.
• Responsible for RBI plans. Approve the decisions of expert groups as required to develop RBI plans, taking into consideration NII guidelines.
• Participate in audits by external bodies e.g. Health and Safety Executive (HSE), United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) and in internal audits.
• Participate as required in incident/safety investigations.
• Provide input to Annual Inspection Report.
• Monitor inspection budget spend and reporting and provide input to Business Plans.
• Monitor NDT contractor performance o Act as Inspection Technical Authority (TA2).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Higher education qualification in technical or engineering discipline or equivalent, but candidates with appropriate experience will also be considered.
• Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
• Extensive experience in inspection/maintenance of plant and equipment in hydrocarbon production, petrochemical or process industries.
• Significant experience in RBI application.
• Proven experience of managing staff and contractors.
• Competence Requirements - Knowledge of NDT codes, standards and procedures,Skill in principles and application of Risk Based Inspection, Knowledge of principles and application of Non Intrusive Inspection and Knowledge of internal auditing processes.
