The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, seeks expertise for offshore mega-projects in Canada.

This opportunity is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
Primary Responsibilities:
• Monitor and oversee the Diving Contractor in the fabrication, installation, and testing of the Sable Venture offshore pipeline spool replacement.
• Work with the Contractor to ensure that the execution program: (1) Meets all design, safety, quality, construction and regulatory requirements; (2) Meets project goals for safety, operability, reliability and environmental performance;

Duties:
• Oversee the Contractor's preparation of all documentation required for offshore installation and testing.
• Candidate will take a lead role in the stewardship and management of the Diving Contractor.
• Work closely with other members of the Project Team during the design, procurement and installation phases of the project as required ensuring successful execution.
• Review key Diving Contractor project plans / systems / procedures that impact safety and quality of execution (e.g. Change Management, Information Management, Interface Management, Procurement Plans, etc) and ensure alignment / linkage to field and project team requirements.
• Steward development of key project deliverables such as the project Risk Assessment process, SIMOPS plans, Communications plans and Safety Plans.
• Provide leadership and support to project during offshore execution phase on the Diving vessel as a project engineer/client Representative working with Company Vessel Management Team.
• Preparation and coordination of documentation required for Diving Authorization.
• Provide oversight in spool fabrication activities.
• Interface with operations regarding commissioning activities.
• Perform project closeout.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Professional Engineer with specialization and proven experience in subsea project during the design, fabrication and installation phases.
• Minimum 8 years relevant experience with subsea projects, subsea structures installation, spool installation and diving projects.
• Contractor management experience and skills.
• Working knowledge of the Nova Scotia Offshore Regulations.
• Experience with subsea installation engineering analysis.
• Demonstrated track record in safety leadership and the development of positive safety cultures.
• Detailed, thorough, and disciplined hands-on approach in carrying out assigned tasks and contractor oversight.
• Experience in rigid spool fabrication, welding and coating systems.
• Experience in managing subcontractors and fabricators.
• Experience in management of Installation Contractors offshore as member of the project management vessel team.
