The Company:
Our major oil and gas client is seeking an Installation Project Engineer for a 3 month opportunity in Houston. The majority of the work will be office based, but some offshore visits may be required.

The Role:
Delivery Scope:
• Act as Installation Project Engineer for the duration of the Installation workscope.
• Manage the Contractors engineering deliverables and the timely turnaround of documents in accordance with the Master Document Register
• Review and comment on the Contractors procedures, plans and SMS bridging documents
• On offshore construction vessels, act as Project engineer liaising through the company representatives with the vessel’s Superintendent Captain and Contractors Project personnel. When no other company representative on board, act as single point of contact for:
• Meetings
• HSSE issues
• Operational decisions
• signature
• Permit to work
• Work in close cooperation with the HUC Manager, Technical Representatives, and the Asset personnel.

Responsibilities:

HSSE • Demonstrate active and clear personal leadership in HSSE across all aspects of installation.
• Participate in Risk assessment
• Assist in ensuring that all hazard management actions are correctly managed to closure.
• Support Project colleagues in the delivery of HSSE excellence throughout the project
• Carry out SOCs and provide safety observations
• Provide inputs into HSSE, Incident and Accident reports where pertinent
• Be knowledgeable of:
• Worksite hazards, communications, local working practices, logistics and emergency procedures
• Ensure Contractor carries out and attends all relevant risk assessments, safety briefings, emergency drills and worksite meetings.
• When no other company representative is on board, report all emergencies, accidents, incidents and uncontrolled events and investigate as appropriate. Act as company focus during any emergency. Complete all necessary reports.

Quality
• Ensure the MOC process is followed
• Ensure that the necessary assurance activities have been completed
• Ensure that the offshore engineering work is performed in accordance with the approved procedures

Schedule
• Ensure that regular communications are maintained with key personnel
• Report job progress and operational issues
Cost
• When no other company representative is on board, be responsible for any offshore contract administration and ensure contractor compliance. Keep log of events, instructions and communications





• Experience in offshore construction operations; some of which will be in a deepwater environment
• Knowledge of deepwater lifting and offshore transportation operations
• Experience as project engineer on Offshore vessels
• Track record of strong HSSE leadership involvement
• Current water survival and HUET

• Self motivated and highly organised
• Well developed inter-personal and communication skills with the ability to liaise with Contractor and marine personnel
• Computer literate
• Calm demeanour under pressure
• Ability to promote good safety culture
