The Company:
Our client, an international major oil and gas operator, seeks a Instrument & Control Engineer to join their team.

The Role:
• The Instrument & Control Engineer will report to the Topsides Lead. This position will support delivery of the I&C scope through Phase 4 of an offshore Angola project.
• The engineer provides direct oversight & review of the I & C engineering & design performed by the EPC contractor to ensure the design meets the EPCI Contract intent & company specifications/safety standards.
• This position will also require working through Risk and Interface issues with the Ops, HES, and Subsea teams.

• This individual will serve as the Subject Matter Expert on all I&C issues, while also assisting with the quality decision processes.
• They will be initially located at the topsides EPCI contractor's office in Phase 4 requiring frequent travel (and possible relocation dependent on contractor selection) for about 12 months to oversee EPCI work (potential International short term relocation).
• There will be frequent travel to the topsides construction yard and the offshore platform during Phase 4. Candidate will rotate to West Africa during the offshore installation, hook-up, commissioning and start-up phase of the project. The project is currently in Phase 3 with plans to transition into Phase 4 in 2Q 2012.
• Brownfield work required on the host platform includes debottlenecking and refurbishment of the existing processing facilities, the addition of a multi-phase meter, metering and production allocation skid, pig launcher and receiver, and electric transformer for the direct electric heating system, additions to the existing chemical injection system, expansion of the existing hydraulic pressure unit and control room.
• Position will require travel to multiple vendor shops for periodic inspections, and FATs.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• BS preferred or equivalent experience
• Preferred candidate should have 7-15 years experience with relevant I & C (automation) systems design in major capital projects and is familiar working with EPCI contractors.
• Familiar with DCS/SIS/ICSS, PLC's, control and ESD valves, Fire & Gas systems, control networks, Operations Training Simulators, familiar with industry and company standards, specifications, and guidelines for stated disciplines.
• Experience working in West Africa would be advantageous, but not required.
