Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
My operator Client is seeking applications for an Instrument and Control Engineer. The role has a duration of 5.5 months, will be FIFO to Barrow Island (BWI) on a 28/28 rotation.

Responsibilities

15%
Champions safety behaviors, lives and believes the principles of an IIF workplace.

40%
• Provide field instrumentation and control systems expertise to assure all pre-commissioning and commissioning deliverables meet the required specifications and quality standard expectations of Chevron and its Joint Venture Partners.
• Attends punchlist walkdowns to identify and record defects and non conformances in field installation of instrumentation and/or control systems
• Endorses procedures for the commissioning of field instruments and control systems on BWI.
• Endorses procedures and work processes to ensure a successful implementation of Foundation Fieldbus type instrumentation
• Witnesses pre-commissioning and commissioning testing of field instruments, control and safety systems on BWI.
• Witnesses pre-commissioning and commissioning testing of vendor package control systems (compressor controls, rotating equipment condition monitoring etc) outside of the main automation contractor scope.
• Supports operations and other engineering disciplines engineers in delivering safe startup of process plant, including specialist expertise in reviewing and accepting project start-up procedures
• Coordinates and helps develop work list for instrumentation commissioning activities using the project completions database
• Validates the project completions database to ensure that system contains all required test records
• Monitors completions status in relation to field instrumentation and instrument systems delivery
• Monitors quality of relevant instrumentation and instrument system document deliverables.
• Recommends improvement initiatives both safety and technical and follows through within sphere of indirect influence to assure implementation.
• Provides process control support, including controller tuning and setup during equipment runs and during plant start-up

• Liaise with the BWI site team to resolve issues relating to the commissioning of field instruments and/or control systems.
• Leverages instrument and controls experience to mentor others within the CSU team

• Contributes to the success of the EPCM contractor and assists in identifying and providing mitigations to any barriers to success within their discipline area. Utilises tools and processes to provide visibility to ICT management of field instrument issues. Provides input into mitigation plans and status reports. Recommends interventions where appropriate.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Position competencies and experience requirements:
• Minimum Qualifications: Relevant Engineering/Science Degree
• Minimum of 10 years relevant, practical experience, including experience in working with/influencing EPCM contractors in executing commissioning activities.
• Thoroughly proficient in utilisation and design of project completions systems and processes
• Thoroughly familiar with all types of field instruments including control and shutdown valves
• Familiar with process control systems and safeguarding systems
• Thoroughly familiar with concepts involved in installation and maintenance of Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas
• Strong organisational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards. Practical working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards
• Competent in complex Instrument systems including Foundation Fieldbus
• Creative thinking is required to facilitate
