The Company:
My Client is a main operator in Oil & Gas.

The Role:
The Instrument & Electrical Projects Engineer will participate in a team of discipline engineers with responsibility for ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operations of Instrument and Electrical systems within the project.

The position involves the definition and execution management of instrument & electrical system improvement projects.

The position requires an Engineer, who is an experienced project manager with extensive control, instrumentation and electrical technical knowledge, to produce requirements specifications, management of change documentation and liaise with client internal stakeholders and external contractors and vendors to efficiently and effectively plan and implement identified projects.

•Supervision and management of contractors and vendors to achieve the required work output.

•Perform project management administrative tasks in an effective and efficient manner and contribute to the achievement of Asset/Resource Team goals and objectives.

•Systems engineering system custodians and technical authorities.

•Other surface engineering disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Production).

•Production services team

•Offshore and onshore operations

•Contractors and vendors

•Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the required technical standards, processes and procedures and operating effectively and in compliance with legislation, the Facility Safety Case and Corporation regulations.

•Ensure assigned E&I Engineering activities are focussed to delivering safe production performance with maximum reliability.

•Ensure costs are controlled and managed in order to achieve business goals by monitoring contracts performance within the group and supporting the building of the OPEX budgets.

•Provide discipline engineering input into multi-discipline Engineering projects, both small and large, and provide Instrument and Electrical engineering input into HAZOP and Hazard review processes

•Develop and implement plant modifications for offshore and onshore sites in line with Facilities Change procedure

•Develop, maintain and manage networks and relationships with key personnel including those from the Operations Team, other client operational Sites and regulatory bodies

•Participate in defining group priorities in conjunction with the Lead E&I engineer.

•Participate in the Development of the annual budget forecast for OPEX and CAPEX projects.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
HSE

HUET and BOSIET Certificates (can be sponsored by BHPB if required)

•Risk Assessment; Understanding

•Functional Safety Management IEC61508/61511; Understanding

•Relevant EEMUA guidelines; Understanding

•ATEX/DSEAR and Hazardous Area Management; Understanding

Technical

E&I Project Management experience in the Oil and Gas industry or other similar heavy industrial environment.

-Strong technical knowledge and proven design, construction, commissioning and operational experience in the following areas;

-DCS / PLC Process Control Systems and ESD Systems

-Field Instrumentation

-ATEX / DSEAR Electrical and Instrumentation Systems

-Low Voltage Motor Control Centres.

- Strong leadership, communications and influencing skills.

- Strong Knowledge of British and European Technical Standards and Applicable legislation and regulations.

- Strong Knowledge of business planning and financial management

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Honours Degree in relevant Engineering Discipline

•Chartered Member of the Institute of Engineers and Technology.

Minimum:

ONC/HNC/HND in relevant Engineering Discipline and proven, relevent experience and track record.
