The Company:
Our client has been established for over 20 years locally and is focused on delivering design solutions to the nuclear industry, specialising in the design of mechanical handling plant and equipment, the design and installation of plant control systems and the provision of support to plant safety reviews.

The Role:
The Instrument Designer is fundamentally a hands-on CAD draughting based role. Instrument Designers are responsible for maintaining and developing the engineers within the Nuclear sector. Also design of working drawings and ensuring design standards and codes are adhered to throughout the design process.

Duties:

• Instrument Design draughting to meet technical specifications, drawing standards and codes primarily using AutoCAD
• Instrument Designer will be responsible for the development of designs to fit within space envelope and design interfaces
• Instrument Designer will prepare manufacturing and installation drawings including detailing, dimensioning and tolerances
• Recording design changes following design change control procedures
• Liaison with Document Controllers and Design Engineers

Instrument Designers will ideally have a P1 or P4 Pass. Along with a good Nuclear background.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum ONC or equivalent qualification gained in a relevant technical, engineering or design discipline.
Nuclear Experience.
P1 or P4 Pass.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Preferably HNC qualified in a technical/engineering discipline though not essential.
