The Company:
Our client is a major global Oil and Gas EPC management company that can cover small Brownfield projects to major Greenfield projects.
They are a growth company who can serve as a Sole Supplier, Joint Venture or Subcontractor. With a proven track record of delivering large scale complex projects they are a progressive and attractive company.

The Role:
We are currently sourcing an Instrument Designer to join the North East Office on an agency contract hire basis.

The designer will be assigned to an internal Workshare project with our South Africa Office to complete the design of a unit on a coal to liquid plant.

The key components of the job are:

Production of design drawings using SmartPlant Instrumentation (INtools) – internal training may be provided for right candidate
Review drawings for accuracy, compatibility, consistency, and for compliance with design criteria and overall project requirements.
Assist with production design work with discipline Engineers, including meetings and design reviews.
The ability to produce cable and tray routing diagrams, block cable diagrams, electrical schematics, instrument loop diagrams, cable schedules etc.
The ability to read and understand P&IDs, Mechanical General Arrangements, Piping Drawings and Civil Drawings
A good working knowledge of ATEX and hazardous area applications.
Duration 4 to 6 months + ongoing future work

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Diploma/BTEC – HND/HNC
Be proficient in SmartPlant Instrumentation (INtools) - training may be provided for right candidate
Sound knowledge of instrument drawing office produced deliverables
Microstation CAD package knowledge would be an advantage, but is not essential
Conceptual Design, Drawing Production, Mathematics, Computing, Graphical Presentation, Communication in English
Self motivated inventive design skills, Drafting, Layout and Graphical Skills
Substantial Process Plant design
