The Role:
Service Scope :
Scope may include elements of instrumentation and electrical power distribution and cabling design design, field instruments, tie-in to existing control systems. The Instrumentation / Electrical Engineer Discipline Engineer focus is on quality engineering deliverables and project execution through outsourced engineering contractors. The Instrumentation / Electrical Engineer works independently with lead engineers at local engineering companies in Atyrau, providing in-process design reviews, monitoring of QC functions, timely response to engineering queries, and provides technical reporting to project and discipline leadership in Atyrau and Tengiz.
The main responsibilities include:
Counsels engineering staffs of affiliated companies and serves as a discipline expert.
Review of out-sourced engineering company drawings and specifications to ensure conformity to TCO Standards and Specifications and contract terms. Quality checks on all design documents within the discipline.
Support understanding by engineering company team members of design requirements and project goals based on TCO issued scope documents.
Responsible for leading the development and deployment of engineering work processes, guidelines, policies and standards that will ensure the quality of the work product, and efficiency of design.
Ensure that materials procurement for fabrication and construction complies with TCO Specifications and requirements.
Review and approve purchase orders for instrumentation and electrical materials and fabrications.
Manage to ensure design changes to engineering deliverables are understood and are completed satisfactorily by contractors.
Provide input to Project Engineers during early project development phases.
Provide input to and participate in project planning, scheduling and estimates.
Provide leadership to engineers within the Instrumentation and Electrical discipline.
Participate in technical evaluation of bids received and the selection of suitable contractor for executing projects, relates design requirements to alternative specifications and standards considering project cost, operations efficiency, maintenance costs and energy conservation
Requirements:
Education: Higher (engineering degree).
Relevant work experience - not less than 5 years.
Reports to: New Wells Project Engineer
Knowledge of Safe work processes and procedures.
Display a breadth of experience and knowledge ino instrumentation and electrical engineering.
Has good multi field/asset/project knowledge and combines with technical know how to solve problems within organization.
Works independently under minimal supervision. Work occasionally reviewed to determine if desired overall objectives have been met.
Solves unusual or complex problems requiring comprehensive understanding of field and integrates understanding of other technologies and customer constraints.
Have strong skills set to supervise several less experienced engineers in addition to engineering duties.
