The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

Our client is only able to accept application from candidates with current working rights in Australia.

The Role:
Fircroft have been asked to source an Instrument Engineer to manage all aspects of the instrumentation, control and shutdown system.

• Work on a major LNG project
• 24 month contract
• FIFO to Chinchilla

The Instrument Engineer will be responsible for managing all required operational and technical requirements for the Control Rooms, Operations Centre and Communications Infrastructure consisting of the Tetra and Microwave Systems. Working for the project owner you will manage the communication between all parties required for successful implementation.

Typically, this includes engineering, procurement and providing support to construction and commissioning. However, this will depend on businees need.

Responsibilities:
• Ensure that engineering data and instructions are given to contractors and vendors in an efficicient and clear manner.
• Provide guidance for pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures.
• Act as authority for all activities associated with the Communications and Control Systems. This includes:
- BOD input, deliverables, performance and quality criteria, schedule and cost criteria
- Design criteria, standards, specifications
- Selection / development of technologies & systems
- Specifications, Layouts, Operator interface ergonomics design
- Management of Engineering Scope of Works for implementation by contractors
- Control procurement and documentation
- Control risks, interfaces, Lessons Learnt inputs, reviews (Hazid, Hazop, Layout, Chazop, SIL, Risk, Value, & their closures); TQs, 3rd party design verification.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering degree, or equivalent
• Ability to liaise with multiple teams and management throughout FEED, detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases
• Understanding of process facilities, control system requirements, operations and control centres, telecommunications systems, policies and business principles, as well as the appropriate national standards and guidelines
• Knowledge of the requirements for classification of hazardous areas and design of electrical equipment in hazardous areas

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• The right to work in Australia without sponsorship
• Experience in the engineering, development and delivery of a number of green-field and brown-field projects
• Experience in major LNG projects in Australia
• Experience working for the Project Owner
