The Company:
Our client, an international major oil and gas operator, seeks three (3) Instrument Engineer's to join their team in Port Arthur, TX.

The Role:
To provide instrumentation support to the Crude Expansion Project (CEP). The position will be responsible for ensuring adherence to COMPANY'S standards and will be driving key commissioning items such as loop checks to completion. This role is not limited to loop checks only and could include aspects such as field inspections and troubleshooting of instruments.
This person will be expected to work together with the Project Controls lead to drive the testing schedule while ensuring quality and technical standards are met. This person will be expected to take an active role in the actual testing.
This project is a Greenfield 325,000bbl a day refinery in Port Arthur, Texas and has on the order of 11,000 loops.
Duration of this job is expected to be 2-4 months. The start date could be flexible, but the need is pretty immediate. Position could potentially be extended to include startup support if desired by the site.

Position Description - Accountabilities:
This position will functionally report to the Project Control Lead or designee and will be an integral part of the Commissioning and Testing Team.
This position will administratively report to the COMPANY Projects & Technology Automation Team Leader.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide technical assurance per COMPANY standards
- Actively participate in commissioning and testing activities.
- Track progress and drive schedule.
- Escalate any issues per project channels
- Fully comply with all COMPANY HSSE guidelines and policies.

Additional Requirements:
1. Flexible travel and work schedule.
2. Must wear protective clothing and equipment per site requirements.
3. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1. Excellent planner and organizer.
2. Effective oral and written communicator with all levels in the organization.
3. Independent, objective and decisive.
4. Understands management systems and processes.
5. Determine root cause(s) of problems.
6. Effectively lead and/or participate in diverse teams.
7. Discern the applicability of COMPANYtechnical standards relative to the activity.
8. Independent use of personal computing applications, e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
1. At least 3 - 5 years working experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with a degree in Engineering.
2. Experience interfacing with an Experion system is a big plus.
3. Project commissioning, testing, and/or SAT experience.
5. Knowledgeable in reading and understanding P&IDs
6. Knowledge of testing procedures and capabilities of field instruments (including HART and FF devices).
7. Ability to lead a small team
