The Company:
Our Client is a Global Operator in the Oil and Gas Industry. This role supports out clients project in Algeria. This role will be based in Algeria on a 28/28 rotational basis.

The Role:
Essential Job Functions:
Provide engineering support to the maintenance department for all the GE frame 5 gas turbines and associated instrumentation. Providing support for troubleshooting and fault finding of the MARK 5 and MARK 6 control systems. Mentor national staff to develop technical and leadership skills, experience and confidence.

Provide engineering support to the maintenance department to set up maintenance and trouble shooting systems for all the PLC’s within the CPF and associated instrumentation. Mentor national staff. Identify opportunities for modifications to improve the design or installations of equipment for improved uptime.

Accountable for setting up systems to ensure integrity of all PLC database and maintaining records of all changes.

Support commissioning by providing technical review and oversight of system startup and testing programs.

Responsible for approving changes to the logic of site PLC’s and mentoring national staff on change management.

Provide technical support to mini-hazops associated with Field Change Proposals.

Provides input and national staff mentoring to set PLC equipment spare parts inventory levels.

Provide technical support national staff mentoring for analyzing plant performance problems.

Assist in the planning of major overhauls. Mentor national staff on importance of preparation and planning.

Develop an effective longer term service contracting approach to satisfy support requirements for Mark 5/6 controls

Continue to provide same technical support through the design, construction and startup phases of the project
Develop programme for training national staff in methodology of Mark 5/6 control and PLC systems.

Audit maintenance work orders to ensure recommended work practices are being used and improved upon.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications:
Degree or equivalent in Engineering, preferably Engineering Electrical / Electronic or related discipline. Chartered Engineer status preferred

Required Experience:
- At least 10 years experience, preferably in oil and gas industry upstream operations.
- Must have considerable experience with GE Frame 5 Gas Turbines, and MARK 5 and MARK 6 control systems
- Ability to analyze problems and provide alternative solutions.
- Experience with industrial PLC systems

Additional experience/requirements:
• Fluent in English
• French (advantageous but not mandatory)
• Arabic (beneficial)
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse, remote and challenging environment.
