The Company:
Our client has been active in the Dutch sector of the North Sea since 1964 and operates nine offshore production and exploration licenses. In addition, they have interests in seventeen non-operated production and exploration licenses.

The Role:
SCOPE/IMPACT:

• Provide input and bear responsibility for the start to finish implementation of mainly instrumentation changes through approved Change Request (CR) routing on the F2A-
Hanze and P11B De Ruyter offshore located oil/gas production platforms.
• Plan own day-to-day activities in an effective manner in close cooperation and under responsibility of the E/I Team Leader.
• Conversant and compliant to the used Integrated Management System (IMS) and Total Loss Management (TLM) under the “Zero Harm” policy to ensure that all activities
meet the Dana Petroleum Zero Harm policy and HSEQ standards.
• Adhere to applicable technical governmental rules and regulations and ensure all Safe work Policies/Standards/Codes of Practice/ Procedures are enforced.
• The CR start to finish (cradle to grave) work involves feed studies, basic design and detailed design including the preparations and guidance for execution of the work
offshore (construction, commissioning and hand-over) to process instrumentation, metering equipment, (DCS) control systems and ESD/F&G/PLC systems.
• Design activities comprise review, approve and development of key instrument documents, drawings, design calculations, data sheets, systems and equipment
specifications/selection, requisitions for material ordering, bid evaluations, hazardous area classifications, cause and effects/fire and gas/unit shut down (C&E/F&G/USD)
as-built input, piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) as-built input, alarm trip settings, function logic diagrams, etc.
• Provide input to tender & construction packages and technical evaluations.
• Actively participate in the upkeep of technical documentation, instrumentation drawings, diagrams, maintenance manuals, etc. in area of expertise, in close cooperation
with other relevant disciplines and/or the document centre.
• Liaise closely with engineering, operations and E&I maintenance department to ensure consistency of work.
• Create and detail the scope of work for assigned jobs and projects and/, upon request, provide input to work carried out under responsibility of other disciplines.
• Co-ordinate with other relevant disciplines to define the data and information to be incorporated into the instrumentation design in order to complete the work.
• In conjunction with supply chain management (SCM) department, maintain contacts with vendors to ensure goods and services are provided with the desired quality at
acceptable cost.
• Input/advice to SCM department with regards to instrumentation equipment and/or package requirements.
• Provide input to critical spare parts stock review and recommend changes in stock levels where appropriate to ensure availability at acceptable cost/benefit ratio.
• Ensure that assigned maintenance instrumentation tasks are prepared and arranged and that tasks are incorporated into the computerized maintenance management
(CMM) system.
• Understand, implement and support the used maintenance strategy and philosophy.
• Attendance/input at HAZOP and SIL reviews.
• Represent discipline in technical discussions.
• Must have demonstrated skills as a team player in the multifunctional operational, engineering and maintenance teams.
• Must be a self starter and demonstrate the ability to make sound decisions while working with limited supervision.
• Demonstrated competency on computers and computerized maintenance management systems (such as Maximo).
• Provide, on an as needed basis, assistance in preparations of 3rd party contract work scopes.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

Office based with platform visits to guide, when applicable, the installation, commissioning and hand-over of the work that is/was prepared

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Diploma/Degree (minimum MTS/HND level) with emphasis to instrumentation and controls education.
• 8+ years relevant engineering and maintenance experience which covers maintenance, instrumentation and controls aspects (electrical is pre).
• Solid appreciation of offshore safety, process control and Instrumentation systems and equipment including DCS, F&G, ESD, PLC’s and field instrumentation (Honeywell,
ABB, Siemens etc).
• Must have good understanding and knowledge of applicable legislation and standards and instrumentation compliance methodologies.
• Good understanding and knowledge of explosion proof and intrinsically safe equipment legislation and implementation thereof.
• Knowledgeable in initiation of drawings and writing of datasheets, specifications, requisitions and material take offs for instrumentation work and/or packages.
• Experience with Instrumentation preparation, installation and commissioning work.
• Good supervisory, communication, organiz
