The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
My operator client currently requires an Instrument Engineer for a rotational position to Barrow Island, performing a 28/28 rotation. The position will be a 12 month contract and is open to expatriate candidates.

Instrumentation Technical Responsibilities

• Member of a multi-functional execution project team responsible for planning, coordination, field supervision and engineering input relating to all instrument equipment for the LNG plant.
• Leads the site instrument engineering effort in response to contractor Request for Information (RFI’s).
• Evaluates and resolves identified technical issues and design enquiries
• Assists Perth based Technical Authority in defining and acceptance of performance test acceptance criteria.
• Provides interface between construction and the Perth-based Engineering team
• Accountable for technical witness and hold points, design parameters and specifications.
• Effectively manages and controls change.

Health, Safety, Environment and Quarantine (HSEQ)
• Manages the day-to-day interface with the Area Construction Engineers, providing a focus on safety, environment and quarantine together with quality and engineering aspects.
• Commits to a safe working environment for everyone on the project and the continuing establishment of an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture.
• Participates in the site Total Safety Task Observation (TSTO), Step Back 5X5 and Hazard Intervention and Reporting Card (HIRC) processes.

Instrumentation Technical Assurance
• Ensures compliance with specifications, procedures, and plans through interaction with the Area Construction Engineers.
• Monitors environmental compliance as required.
• Assists QA/QC as requested for the verification of procured instrumentation equipment post-site arrival.
• Assists in the conduct of Quality audits.

Documentation Control
• Supports the Barrow Island Site Engineering Manager to ensure effective project closeout, including documentation.

Completion and Commissioning Support
• Provides pre-commissioning mechanical completion oversight and verification support.
• Monitors the mechanical completion phase and participates in the transition to final hook-up and commissioning phases.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree qualified instrumentation engineer or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years site construction experience, primarily focused on instrumentation and process control aspects.
• Competency in the use of common computer systems and software.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and an understanding of instrumentation construction management and sequencing and methodologies
• Well developed communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
• Additionally, good knowledge of LNG construction is preferable
