The Company:
Our client is a Global operator in the Oil & Gas industry

The Role:
• Develop project commissioning procedures and method statements necessary to safely start up the facilities. Review & approve all commissioning procedures prepared by the various project contractors.
• Accept on behalf of the company, all contractor Pre-Commissioning/commissioning tests and checks and associated I.T.R’s
• Manage and witness all safety system and control system equipment and system hardware/software testing during pre-commissioning/commissioning and start-up of the central processing facility and offsite infrastructure.
• Ensure the design and construction facilities are completed to project specifications, relevant codes and industry norms and verify design from a commissioning and operability standpoint.
• Manage and audit contractor and vendor personnel working practices and procedures to ensure compliance with project procedures for site testing, software change and control of overrides and inhibits on fire and gas systems, safety systems and control systems
• Communicating with Operations, Contractors, vendors and others as necessary to ensure commissioning works are carried out in a planned and co-ordinated manner.
• Liaise with Operations, Facilities Management, Site Contractors, Vendors and others as necessary to ensure commissioning works are carried out in a planned & coordinated manner.
• Evaluating potential risk by utilising risk review and assessment tools and procedures. Participate in the risk review process and onsite risk assessments. .
• Maintain a high level of safety personally and for other personnel under direct supervision.
• Have experience with Permit to Work systems, identifying potential risks and tool box talk requirements.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent
• Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Engineering
• French would be an advantage
• Min 15 years instrumentation experience in the Oil & Gas industry. Experience in the commissioning of Fire & Gas, Safety and Control systems and instrumentation.
• Experience with working in remote overseas locations. Experience with working with a multi-cultural workforce.
• Ability to analyse control and instrument problems and provide solutions
• Team player and team leader skills in operational support and development engineering role. Highly developed interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication. Positively interactive with contractors, operations and project personnel.
• Experience with Yokogawa Centum/Prosafe/Stardom systems desirable but not essential.
