The Company:
Our client a UK based refining and marketing company, have interests in a number of facilities in the United Kingdom, employing around 1000 people throughout the UK and over 33000 worldwide. They have had their presence on Teesside for over 30 years, processing and storing crude oil ready for shipment along with being an established supplier of bulk fuels, including LPG, to the commercial, aviation and marine industries.

The Role:
The facility is looking for an experienced Instrument & Analysers Supervisor to manage a team of technicians ensuring preventative and corrective maintenance is carried out on the facility for continued future operations.


The Instrument & Analyser Supervisor may be responsible for:

• Supervises the maintenance and repair of instrumentation & analytical systems in hazardous areas in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Ensures testing of SIL rated trip systems, environmental equipment and fire and gas detection systems installed on the facility are completed to schedule.
• Actively participates in daily meetings to manage and coordinate the planned work via SAP ensuring timely completion of instrument systems planned maintenance routines.
• Participates in site Health, Safety, Environment and Quality management involving Incident Investigation, Risk assessments and Specialist Vendor Audits.
• Accountable for the communication of all safety-related issues to team members / sub-contractors. Chair-Toolbox talks & Safety meetings
• Utilises the SAP system to generate material requisitions for work orders and enters CATS hour’s data for team members.
• Generates Permit and Isolation requests for tasks.
• Deputises for Instrument Maintenance Engineer as required.
• Supervise and mentoring of apprentices.
• Provides technical assistance / input into instrument failures / breakdowns on site
• Seeks operations input to ensure maintenance activities have minimal impact on process/operational plans.
• Collect and record relevant data associated with job activity promptly and accurately.
• Co-ordinate contract resources involved in the execution of work during a Turnaround.
• Drives productivity.
• Support and advise Operations in major re-commissioning activities.
• Participate in the control of various maintenance disciplines whilst on callout rota

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Legal right to live and work in the UK on a permanent basis without restrictions
• Good written and spoken English language skills
• Time served technician with a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Instrumentation or technical qualification
• Strong mentoring and people development skills
• Extensive relevant supervisory experience ideally in an Oil & Gas / Petrolchemical environment
• Computer literacy in relevant office programmes
• Delta V DCS knowledge advantageous
