The Company:
Our client is one of the world's leading international oil and gas companies.

The Role:
Demonstrate HSSE leadership and promote a high standard of HSSE behaviour within the EPC Contractor and sub-contractor organisations
• Assures the quality of instrumentation work performed on site by Contractor and sub-contractor in compliance with Owner requirements
• Provide direction and support to the EPC Contractors on site construction activities related to instrument equipment installation including quality and schedule related issues.
• Liaise with project management, other construction disciplines and Operations to ensure timely delivery of all construction activities according to project schedule.
• Review EPC contractor/supplier installation work methods and procedures to ensure compliance with COMPANIES requirements and accepted good practice.
• Participate in risk reviews and tool box talks with EPC Contractor’s work force and assist with the development of mitigation plans for all major areas of risk.
• Daily monitoring of EPC contractor/supplier manpower and resource levels and advise construction management of any deficiencies in these areas.
• Ensure that installations are in accordance with drawings, specifications, supplier requirements and applicable codes and standards and that any changes are properly managed and documented in accordance with project procedures.
• Witness and acceptance of installation and functional test activities as required by inspection and test plans to provide owner assurance over instrument completion and commissioning activities.
• Maintain oversight of EPC Contractors materials storage and preservation activities to ensure storage/preservation is in accordance with project and manufacturers recommendations.
• Raise Site Queries and Non-Conformance Reports in accordance with project procedures and verify physical close-out of Site Queries, Non-Conformance Report and Punch Items
• Participate in punch-out of systems as part of completions and hand-over process
• Review Instrument and System Completion documentation to ensure completeness

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The position holder will have demonstrable experience supervising the installation and testing of field instruments and instrumentation systems typically used in the oil and gas industry. Essential criteria and qualifications include:
• HNC or higher degree in related technical discipline, or
• Relevant City and Guilds trade qualification
• Minimum 10 years relevant and attestable experience in similar or related roles on major projects
• Fluent English speaker, French advantageous.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience will typically include:
• Good working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (IEC, etc) within area of discipline responsibility
• Familiarity with certification processes used during installation, commissioning and handover of instrument systems from project to operational phase including loop and function testing
• Strong background in inspection and testing of instrument systems during construction
• Practical experience with operation and maintenance of instrumentation associated with turbo-driven compression equipment.
