The Role:
Location : Service located in the contractor Engineering Offices in Abu Dhabi with several trips to be performed to different locations
Status : Resident with family
Mobilisation : asap
Duration : 12 months renewable
Languages : English / French

Report to Project Engineering and Project Management
First stage: Based in Abu Dhabi with frequent Missions to France and Yemen site (Kharir)
Then Possibly Rotational in Kharir Field, Block 10, Yemen - 4 weeks / 4 Weeks

To lead and coordinate the ICSS & Packages PLCs & other systems & instrumentation team of the project.
To supervise construction up to pre-commissioning and provide assistance/support to commissioning/start-up personnel. .
Ensure all internal and external construction interfaces and manage contract key dates to meet project milestones.
Complete the work with due regard to the health and safety of personnel, environment and company assets.

In charge, under the responsibility of the Engineering Management, of the follow up and supervision during the different phases of the project up to and beyond Project Sanction (Basic Engineering, Detail Design, Procurement, Construction, Installation) of the instrument discipline studies to be carried out.
- Ensure implementation of all TEPY Kharir Site Project General Procedures,
- Uphold TEPY HSE policies at all times. Attend relevant HSE meetings as required.
- Review of the ICSS & Packages PLCs Integration with Existing Architecture for the project,
- Monitor the interfaces with all packages in relation to ICSS & instrumentation disciplines,
- Design Engineering Review of the Integrated Control & Safety System (ICSS) for the project,
- Coordinate the work with the process design team, the safety design team and the operation team to define and implement all the requirements in the instrument control system,
- Follow up and supervise the ICSS discipline studies to be carried out for this Integration during the detail engineering and procurement period,
- Review Procurement Conformity between Engineering Equipments Data Sheets & Vendors bidding proposal,
- Review all Vendor drawings / documentation – comment as necessary,
- Follow-up and perform all the necessary FAT,
- Review Contractor Pre-commissioning ICAPS Database for content accuracy and ensuring OPERCOM Methodology is adhered to,
- Review Contractor Commissioning ICAPS Database (Basic Functions & Details) for Instruments and Systems (ESD, F&G, PCS),
- Review Contractor Operational Test Procedures (OTPs of ESD, F&G, Rotating Equipments,...).
- Be involved in the instrument discipline for this project during engineering, construction up to pre-commissioning and provide assistance/support to commissioning / start-up personnel,
- Avoid contractor stand-by/delays by prompt response to site queries and unexpected technical problems,
- Participate in technical reviews during the engineering, construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning phases:
to provide support and expertise during these phases
to attend project technical reviews and contribute on instrumentation and control issues,
- Ensure that construction of the onshore plant complies with detailed engineering, contracts, schedule, budgets and safety practices,
- Review and compile Instrumentation/Systems documents (PIDs / Instrument Loop Diagrams, ...) «As Commissioned» received from Commissioning Team for Dossier updating,
- To supervise the up-dating of project Master documentation.
- To participate in technical reviews during the construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning phases:
to provide support and expertise during these phases
to attend project technical reviews and contribute on instrumentation and control issues.
to ensure proper reporting, highlighting critical issues to the project management and proposing remedial actions.
to contribute to improving the project lessons learnt and personnel skills in onshore projects.
to contribute to the advancement of working methods and tools within his speciality in ongoing company projects.

Ensure the satisfactory completion of project in terms of ICSS & Instrumentation activities
Manage and control (technical, budget and schedule …) and approve ICSS & Instrumentation engineering studies during the Project execution in line with Client Referential, Master Development Plan …
Anticipate potential problems of interfaces. Analyse and propose corrective actions
Accountable for close control of cost and schedule
Responsible for the achievement of the construction of all WTU ICSS as per schedule and Budget
Responsible to inform Project Management at the earliest if Project schedule is deviation from baseline and Design basis is not as per Scope of requirements

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Graduate engineering
minimum 10 years experience in Instrument design, in managing large engineering contracts and designing Instrument Control Systems
Sound background in O & G engineering areas with good knowledge in process and Onshore facilities design

Fluent in English (speaking and writing) mandatory, (French language is an asset)

Experience in team management and skill in external communication, able to work in a multicultural environment
Specialisation: Automation, Process Control, ESD and F&G.
Specialist with extensive experience of field instrumentation as well as control and safety systems.
Detailed experience of the operating and control philosophy of onshore plants.
Extensive experience of monitoring construction and commissioning performed by an EPC contractor.
