The Company:
Our client a UK based refining and marketing company, have interests in a number of facilities in the United Kingdom, employing around 1000 people throughout the UK and over 33000 worldwide. They have had their presence on Teesside for over 30 years, processing and storing crude oil ready for shipment along with being an established supplier of bulk fuels, including LPG, to the commercial, aviation and marine industries.

The Role:
Responsibilities:

The Instrument Technician may be responsible for:
•To interpret job requirements from drawings and / or other specifications.
•Executing maintenance and repair of general instrumentation, fiscal metering instrumentation, SIL (Safety Integrity Level) Trip systems, DCS/Scada systems, analytical and environmental equipment, fire and gas detection systems in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
•Generating SAP material requisitions for work orders and projects.
•Generating ideas for cost savings/efficiencies minimises system maintenance costs by providing data for the analysis of maintenance trends or delays and suggesting causes and solutions.
•Responding to Call Outs
•Deputising for Instrument Supervisor as required.
•Undertaking any administrative tasks in support of role.
•Assisting in reviews and development of relevant section procedures
•Ongoing review of department procedures and preventative maintenance procedures

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Legal right to live and work in the UK on a permanent basis without restrictions

•Relevant approved apprenticeship / NVQ level 3

•ONC in Instrumentation

•Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Instrumentation

•Com-pex certified

•Previous relevant experience in a petrochemical environment

•Good written and spoken English language skills

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Computer literacy in relevant office programmes

•Ability to use the quality principles of continuous improvement

•Knowledge of the principal legislation relating to oil processing

•Ability to accept responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others

•Good communication skills

•Ability to problem solve and work effectively within a team
