The Company:
A Major Operator

The Role:
Provide Safety Instrumented System(SIS) analysis to the PHA Revalidation teams. Additionally, support instrumentation and controls engineering to capital project design and execution serving as a point of contact for engineering contractors, fabricators, and vendors.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
SIS Analysis in support of PHA Revalidation Teams
Prior to PHA Revalidation session, participate in review of the relevant Safety Instrumented Function (SIF) audit findings with the PHA Facilitator to help prepare.
Be available during PHA to respond to questions
Following PHA, develop new/modified SIF’s identified by the PHA in the Meridium Database
Involved in ensuring application of the company's design criteria, specifications and industry recognized standards to new projects.
Ensure consistency of design with North Slope Facility Automation requirements.
Review design deliverables and monitor the performance of the design contractor’s instrumentation and control design teams.
Coordinate instrumentation and controls interface with other engineering disciplines.
Participates in the project risk management process.
Participates in the development of operation, maintenance, and start-up philosophies.
Participates in P&ID and other instrument and control drawing reviews.
Assists in evaluation of proposals for major equipment.
Reviews instrumentation and control input to bid documents, and vendor submittals.
Assists in factory acceptance testing and field inspections.
Interface with North Slope based engineering and maintenance personnel.
Participates on start-up team.
Helps prepare quality assurance/quality control programs and plans.
Participates in evaluation of quotes for major equipment.
Assists in field inspections and flow sheet checkout.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
BS in engineering from a nationally accredited college.
5+ years experience in instrumentation and controls design in oil/gas, power, or petrochemical industries.
Must be willing to work a schedule of Mon-Fri with an occasional trips to the North Slope remote work location for design support or commissioning/start-up activities.
Must be willing to take visits to engineering contractor offices or fabrication sites outside of Alaska for 1 – 2 weeks at a time.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Previous North Slope or arctic experience.
Good written and oral communications skills.
Safety Instrumented Systems experience including Meridium software. Third party certification of SIS competency.
Experience designing Bailey DCS, Moore DCS, Emerson DeltaV DCS, TI and Siemens PLC’s, and industrial instrument networks is highly desirable.
State of Alaska PE license
