The Company:
SADARA is a Multinational Chemical company which is constructing and operating a world-scale integrated chemicals complex in Saudi Arabia. Once completed, the complex will represent the largest petrochemical facility ever built in a single phase. This will establish a world-scale manufacturing footprint that delivers a full range of value-added, performance products destined for the emerging markets of Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa.

The Role:
The purpose of this job is to provide instrument / control systems engineering support for both new projects and plant equipment issues which will contribute to safe and reliable operations.

Role and Responsibilities
1. Apply engineering principles to research, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate instrumentation systems.
2. Adhere to instrument and process control technology specific practices, standards,
guidelines, and procedures for preparation of estimates, scopes, specifications, design and installations.
3. Develop hardware, software, functional and user specifications for process control systems and associated components.
4. Participate in the development of process control and information management strategies.
5. Review and approve instrument and process control technology specifications, drawings and other documentation.
6. Ability to evaluate various design alternatives and apply the best long term solution where no firm technical requirements exist.
7. Select flow and level transmitter technologies and installation requirements.
8. Select and size control valve types
9. Provide technical support to site Maintenance to perform advanced troubleshooting on equipment, analyze failures, determine causes and to determine solutions and scopes of repair.
10. Evaluate vendor shops to identify best equipment repair facilities and repair strategies.
11. Coordinate with parent company and / or licensor to ensure Sadara specifications are updated with applicable changes.
12. Evaluate all instrumentation / process control technology aspects of engineering to ensure all project objectives including safety, technical correctness, budget, constructability, schedule, maintainability, and operability are met.
13. Interface with other engineering disciplines/departments, customers and vendors/suppliers to ensure successful development and execution of projects.
14. Develop scope and material take offs to support project estimates
15. Develop, monitor and manage work hour estimates and resources to meet project schedule requirements
16. Prepare specifications for construction contracts
17. Provide engineering field support on construction projects when requested by the Owner’s Representative or plant personnel
18. Ensures that environmental regulations and Safety and Loss Prevention principles are considered in design.
